Oh totally, while I like the new one, the original was mind blowingly good for its time. And you are right, what shelf presence. Just a complete package. I THINK (going by memory here) G2 Laser Optimus went for $30 in the 1990s. Adjusting for inflation I think that is about $57 today. If my numbers are correct, (which I may be wrong) no excuse the Legacy one comes with far less.

I suppose with enough Weaponizers you can get the new one there, but again you shouldnt have to.

I found this photo on Facebook. Does anybody know which gun is Prime holding?

Maybe you should ask @Prime77 since it is his photo.

It’s the combined gun form of Robots In Disguise Warrior Class Stormshot. I thought it looked better with Laser Prime.

After acquiring this figure from Walmart today, I’ve gotta say my opinion on it has turned positive. I gave him the guns from the Super Ginrai redeco "Magnus Prime" that was included with that Siege on Cybertron boxset from Titans Return, and they suit him well. The original Powermaster Prime rifles also looked great held by the original G2 Laser Prime too, so it’s only fitting with the next generation.

Looking forward to getting this figure. I've had him on preorder for a while. Nice pictures here with the alternate guns. I know he has his shoulder launchers and the cannon has a hand-held option, but it's too small for an Optimus Prime hand-gun, let alone a cannon. I understand that's true to the original figure, but even so, I think they should have carried over a weapon like his G1 ion-rifle. ( I don't mean that it should be exactly the same. )

    Ebay:
So, adding onto my previous post about his head, my Laser Optimus came missing parts.
    His knee flaps.
    I contacted Pulse customer service.
They directed me to Hasbro Consumer Care.
Called them and the lady I spoke to said she would put in for a replacement.

I was also supposed to get an email with a reference number for the call, which I never got.
So I can only hope the request for replacement went through.
I'll call tomorrow to be on the safe side.

Yeah document everything and always ask for proof of the current conversation, i.e. email, case#, etc. This way if it becomes a problem, you have a narrative of settling the issue.

How would you compare the plastic on Laser Prime to that of Legacy Blaster or Bulkhead? Those are the only Legacy figures I have at the moment, but as a whole they feel on par with some of the better WfC stuff to me. Then again, maybe I just didn't put those two under enough scrutiny.

Just building on the weaponizer point. Cromer makes a great weaponizer for laset Prime to build him up to the original laser Prime. These two combined makes it the worthy followup to the original. Big thank you to @metphorge for the recommendation.

Blaster, to me, feels like a much better plastic. Legacy Op almost feels like they changed the formula slightly. Almost like it's a recycled plastic. Still not bad and is robust & solid for this figure. It might be from my extra sensitivity in my fingertips which is a side effect from arthritis in my hands that I'm noticing a bigger difference. It's a real pita sometimes.

I see, thank you for the reply! I guess slightly worse than Blaster ain't bad at all.

I'm sorry you suffer from arthridis, and hope you have access to treatment to at least keep it from getting worse.

Thank you. The funny part is the treatment. My doctor told me that to keep my hands active I should get a Rubik's cube and fiddle with it periodically. I told him I collect TF's, are they close enough? His reply? "Take two Optimus Primes and call him in the morning."
    :p
He wondered why it wasn't worse than it should have been. I was doing a remedy already and didn't even know it. :D

Haha, awesome! Prime would be proud, even in toy form he's able to help people out. I wish you all the best with keeping your symptoms at bay, or even getting better. I'm positive it helps a lot that you've managed that something you enjoy also happens to be so therapeutic.

    Thanks again.
So we're not to far off topic. Laser Optimus is a great update, but will never replace my Original G2 Prime.

I feel the same but about the Scourge repaint for my RID Scourge especially with how off the colors are. Still buying it but the original is superior.

I remember RID '01 Scourge for $39.99 at TRU. But I'm an old fart and could be senile as well.

I have the original as well and has been one of my favorite figures. I'll be getting the Nemesis repaint of this as well. Sorry, but that is not a Scourge/Black Convoy deco imo.
