Yeah FT often adds silhouettes for context, which people take as 'annoucements' for some reason.

 

I took it that was an ancient 3P tradition. I've never really understood/bought it either. Surely you would at least need a full 3D Render for a proper "announcement".

 

It would make the titchy car bots seems even smaller!

Is that a tease or a clever way of showing off play pattern options without showing Hasbro's most prized intellectual property?

 

That and it's not even a an actual figure of Optimus Prime, but a still from the animation movie.

And besides, it's not like Fanstoys even needs to tease an Optimus Prime. We know they will make one, it's just a question of when, but I hope they save him for last...we are already neckdeep in 3rd party Primes. Give us figures no one has done before, thank you very much.

Oh yes all 12 Targetmasters. They are awesome and underrated. Slugslinger and Spinister are my favourites. I want them so badly.

Awesome, one of my favourite MPs, very clever engineering and top notch tolerances, die-cast parts. I was happily surprised that there were some variations in the yellow too.

 

Shame his articulation is the worst of the set though

 

I would rather pay 20 bucks more and get that extra oomph.

 

It shouldn't really cost more to improve his articulation though, spoiler has great articulation, Magnum is okay (why no ab crunch) and Roadking is fully articulated if a bit limited by his weight and boxy shape at times but it is all there. So Smokey being so limited is odd. Even x-transbots overheat with his QC issues at release still has better articulation (when not falling apart lol)

I get your point but remember Smokey was already about what 50 buck more than the other car bots at release. So he should of at least been their level of posable

 

Yeah, that's a fair point. He can do some cool double gun poses but not much dynamic stuff or kneeling. I'm guessing it would have been hell to get those knees that move cleverly out of the way for the elbow joint on Menasor as well as double joints for robot mode. The alternative would have been to have him split in half like all the other Dragstrips? But I really like FT's solution to non-partsforming for the arm modes, IF it all works in the end! 

 

But if FT was consistent then what would have to talk about?

 

I can forgive the knees because of combiner mode limitations but the elbows and the half deformed ab crunch are less forgivable. Same with Magnum no ab crunch even though it was doable with spoiler?
