Selling my Downbeat v1 Reissue. £95 posted 2nd class signed for in the UK. Can post overseas, but obviously price will change.

If I don't have a buyer by 5pm BST (c.30hrs from now) it's going on eBay.

MIB, some minor paint apps to make him more toon

Not trying to be a dick here but...

Mint in box with added paint apps is a contradiction. Mint means it's exactly like it came out of the factory. Mint gets misused by sellers all the time to try to play up the good condition of their figures when what they should really be saying is near mint. If you've taken it out of the box and messed with it at all, it's probably not mint. If it's spent any time on a display shelf, it's probably not mint.

Anyway, sorry if that's being too nitpicky. It probably won't affect the price you can get for him. I just really don't like the way that figures are so often oversold.

It's all subjective but I've always read mint as meaning "as opened." The figure touched air before going in its package and touching air again doesn't open it up to flaws and deficiencies by default. If someone takes care if their figures and displays properly there's no reason for it not to stay in the same condition. Things like loose joints or paint wear should be disclosed in a description.

Things like added paint and stickers obviously take away from being "as opened" as well so I'm in complete agreeance there.

That’s funny, every transformer on eBay is MISB. you mean sealed doesn’t mean “opened for inspection and then returned to the box?”

    That's what it means.

It's weird; I don't see this on TF listings at all anymore but with Bandai Figuarts people do it so much that it's a running meme in the community.

Yup. And they've always been never transformed and displayed in a UV protected humidity controlled chamber. I mean I honestly would probably never be able to tell the difference between a well cared for figure that had been transformed and posed over and over and one that's only been out of the box once but a lot of these descriptions I see, I have a hard time buying it.

Hopped on the site and saw a bunch of notifications and was wondering what I'd said to piss everybody off. Saw my post and was like, yup, that's gonna get a bunch of reactions. I do typos in pretty much every post but I can't believe that one got past me.

That one you miss always turns out to be the "best," doesn't it?

so the current ft soar i own was sold to me as misb on eBay, it arrived with toyhax stickers applied and a broken off foot. TFSOURCE’s EBAY ACCOUNT SOLD IT TO ME.

that was the last time I ever bought anything mint in a sealed box ever again. I wish I could say the same for both ebay and tfsource, but sadly I can’t. I did write tfsource a very terse email though and they did nothing. The probably spit on my Rig, which I wish was a euphemism.

incidentally, I’m always honest when I sell things, it makes my life so much easier. If I’ve dropped a figure, I’ll explain.

For those of you who got the redeco; do you think it's worth owning both? Do they stabd out enough from each other?

Resurrecting this old thread as I'm contemplating moving this to my toy inspired shelf now Jive isn't far away.

Was there ever a decal set for his livery or is it only a sticker option?

It was fan-made for the decals. You had to print/cut them yourself.

Decal = sticker, so I’m not sure what you’re asking. The revised deco added more detail but it wasn’t an extensive livery. I have V1 Downbeat and I just made my own stickers for it. Jive looks pretty plain, so I would find it necessary to give it more detail, too, but I’m not really interested because of the skinny motorcycle wheels/tires it’s wearing.

    For this purpose:
Sticker = sticker. Decal = dry rub or waterslide (i.e. not stickers)

Since FT Jive is getting a lot of (rather undeserved, so there) attention, I thought I should play with Downbeat today.
