TM2 Scourge is a freakin' insect ninja plague-lord. The way his wings form this tattered cape/scarf in robot mode is so goddamned edgy.
I mean, saying the colors are right but they’re distributed a different way is an understatement don’t you think? Scourge as a character has gray shoulder pauldrons, a gray chest with teal highlights, a gray torso with black abs, and a gray codpiece. All of those have been changed to black here and the windows are also the wrong color. It would be like making the red areas on Starscream’s chest and his intakes white and then coloring the actual middle portion in his chest red. Yeah it’s the same colors, but when you distribute them differently it’s _wrong_ isn’t it? I wouldn’t have this objection if they called this guy nemesis prime but if you’re gonna call him black convoy and put the upside down G2 symbol on it, meaning it is specifically the car robots character and not just a generic “bad Optimus,” shouldn’t it look like the character?
I get that isn't exactly what people wanted, but reimagined or not they are still his colors, yet to read some of the initial reactions in this thread you'd have thought they painted him orange or something.
TM2 Scourge rocks. The only downside is the way the rear legs have these tubes that limit posability. If you open the legs and snip off the ends of the tubes he can stand taller and more stably.

Otherwise it would not have the very specific faction symbols. The idea that they will release a version closer to the original deco is pie in the sky stuff, frankly. If anything the Siege Soundwave example would indicate they won't give us a more accurate version, given literally no one asked for a re-release of Siege Soundwave with or without battle damage.
One of the most expressive BW figures, at least in the upper body, since his transformation scheme and slight build gives him very effective butterfly joints.
In addition to the above, Hasbro Pulse basically gives Hasbro free license to release exclusives that are color-corrected versions. Heck with a G2 Laser Prime based figure itself, wasn't the original release of that figure in G1 colors under Titans Return, and then with one of those exclusive multi-packs they did the right colors for the original G2 Laser Prime with more black/red?
Yep, G1 colours got the retail release, G2 colours got released in the "Chaos on Velocitron" box set. Look at that movable shoulders.
...so? Show me proof that RID Scourge, specifically, will get a corrected deco in the future. There is none, nor is there any indication in the here and now that there will ever be. That a handful of figures in the past several years have gotten redecos is no indication that any specific figure will in the future.
IF Hasbro decides to do it (BIG IF) there won't even be a rumor of it until months after this velocitron version has been on shelves, sold out, and been heavily scalped on ebay.
Also true. It will be announced in some sad, lifeless Pulse livestream in November of 2023 to a host who clearly DGAF for release in Summer of 2024 with a price point of $70 dollars due to inflation. It will not include the trailer. Pulse members will be able to preorder early!
