Can Menasor's legs be flipped over so the cars are the shins? Do we know?

 

I can't help but wonder if a CW-leg is too short if paired alongside a legacy limb, and using either the stock foot or a PE foot would likely affect that.

Bit of comfort in the fact Dead End can't just be a retool of Wildrider since he has to split in half, but I hope he doesn't end up like Wildrider design-wise.

 

Totally agree with you, i know others won't be as inclined. I'm just happy it's not a sloppy mess that could fall easily.

 

I never realized that Cartoon Menasor has his leg Stunticons on the back of his legs. Then again the only recent image I have of this guy is from the IDW comics where he used the CW desgin.

 

The lower legs connect Combiner Wars-style, so you can slot the legs in backwards if you want to. But the knees only work in the "proper" direction, so you'd lose that point of articulation. But hey, if you're just going to have him A-stance on a shelf, it should work.

 

Am I understanding correctly, that basically I can have the best of both worlds if I get Legacy Motormaster, Drag Strip, and Dead End, because IMO those are the crappy parts of the Combiner Wars Menasor, and the leg figures from Legacy look awful, but are great from the Combiner Wars set?

Now if I can peg the PE Combiner Wars hands into Legacy Menasor, I'm golden.

Eh, size doesn't really matter when you have Core bots. He will tower over everyone like the rest of my combiners. The one Combiner I was always eh on just got a perfect redo, made better that it's somewhat backwards compatible. I'm all in.

I feel like an old man yelling at clouds when I say this but: The picture of Motormaster standing there in front of Menasor just makes me shake my head. There's partsforming, and then there's the way all these modern Menasors seem to work, where the trailer becomes pretty much the whole damn figure and the Stunticons either decorate it or hide behind it.

...I mean, it still looks pretty good and I'm probably gonna buy it. But still.

 

The third party companies are gonna have a field day with this set (as usual) lol

 

Thigh extenders, articulated hands for Menasor (and maybe another set for. MOtor Master. Maybe Some gap fillers. Anything else? Could be a worthwhile kit.

 

Something for the arm slots so they're also backwards-compatible with Combiner Wars. Seriously, if Hasbro went ahead and made the legs compatible they could (and should) have also done the arms, even if they still used a separate combination method for the new Legacy arms.

 

It definitely sucks, but I blame the design of Menasor as a character rather than any mistakes by the toy designers. Making a single stable figure out of several figures that are themselves full of moving parts is a daunting enough task in of itself, having to do it for a design like Menasor where it's basically just a dude wearing cars as armor is even harder while making the toys transform "enough". It's not like Devastator or Predaking where you can see parts of the individual robots throughout the combiner, with the interpretation Hasbro's gone for, it's very much one giant individual wearing 4 other cars. And even if they went with the better G1 Sunbow interpretation, where Drag Strip and Dead End are the actual arms, you've still got the leg bots strapped onto the calves.

 

That’s how it was in the cartoon. Menasor is the only one like this though.

Im going to always compare this version to the previous, CW version. And the difference in quality is... unbelievable. Apparently, Hasbro did notice how badly CW Menasor turned out!

not too keen on the CW style connector for the legs. CW menasor was an eye sore and a mess of a toy. i am sure they improved on this one. glad i invested in the third party ones. most likely end up getting it ibut no confidence in the maker of it. poor record for combiners and they own the brand haha

 

Not bad! Makes me a little upset I skipped out on preordering, but at least the one I got can scramble city. Less fun when you can\'t.
