Not trying to stir drama in the thread, just trying to give the most comprehensive description of the ups and downs of the Hutz era as I’ve seen it.

The drama has always been more personality based than scamming. When he first popped on the scene there was a lot of inter-facebook group drama banning him from FT groups for various reasons (most likely being argumentative and blocking admins. Not that those groups are not known for being super reasonable). So he said/she said drama.

As far as I can tell, everyone that’s purchased from him have gotten what they ordered. The biggest drama was TMReviews purchasing Hydra from him around the time in 2020. He got the item and was happy with it but also added that he wouldn’t recommend buying from him and had 5 points why he felt that way:

1. He makes wild claims including having a rich family that owns Newage with connections to the owners of FT and Hot Toys. Saying he can get significant $1-200 discounts compared to retailers.

2. Changing prices all the time depending on who he’s talking to.

3. Blocking admins in the FB groups he was in, also blocking TMReviews when he questioned him.

4. Using a fake name of a sleazy fictional character (Hutz), also went by Troy McClure’s Robot Toy Sales and a third name I won’t list cause he said it’s apparently his father’s name that he uses for his PayPal account.

5. Seemingly having a brand new FB account listed as a 2nd admin of his own group that acts like Hutz himself but he says is a woman that works with him.

On the plus side, he has been earliest to know about certain releases like the Badcube reissues of Gears and Huffer, some FT re-releases etc. So I’d say he has a good track record of breaking news on occasion.

In conclusion, he seems to follow through as a business but acts out and rubs people the wrong way. This is not an attack or an endorsement!

 

I'm not your "homie" and I have no issue tagging you or even PMing you if there's something I need to address you directly. I don't operate like that.

And all I did was ask why. I don't think it's unfair in any way, shape, or form to ask somrone why they said someone has a negative rep.. If your end is "Someone else said he did and I'm running with it" then cool. I personally need some context before running with it so just going down the line until someone has something that actually happened to come to the conclusion. If no one has anything then... well.. guess that's the conclusion.

Thank you (honestly.) Personally I don't get anything out of that that shows he does bad business but at least there's something more than nothing.

 

OMG I love this thread! Its been a fun adventure, but i think I'm gonna have too retire from reading this thread for some time now. I'm so proud too have been a part of this is some shape or form. I'd like to thank hutz lionel for starting abrupt controversy, alph for being steadfast and suporting him through all these hard times. A special shoutout to ramjet aswell, for giving me so much more reasons to be optimistic in life. I can't forget everyone else, we wouldn't be here if it weren't for all you folks speaking your minds. I love you all!

 

Love him or hate him, hutz certainly changed the trajectory of this thread once he entered it. Anyway I’m out too.

So, wild headcanon time  

We think a lot of the 3P companies are interconnected. (I've additionally read speculation they're also connected with the 4P / KO companies, playing both sides and collecting all the money...)

So maybe Hutz really is in the familial mix, and has an agreement to use the injection moulding machines *and the staff who operate them* during what would otherwise be downtime. So long as the income covers the additional costs to the parent company, he then wouldn't need to find nearly as much money as a regular startup would to make Metroplex happen. And if he's designing it himself he probably isn't taking a wage for that - taking a profit cut instead - reasonable for a side hustle.

This would also mean he benefits from the expertise of the machine operators. I speak from experience when I say that can be worth a lot to a designer up in their white tower  

 

You are not alone my brother from Serbia. I've read everything and I find myself in this quite a bit   As a kid, I also recorded every toon episode on video recorder, and some times I was trying to capture their transformation to understand how they really transform but I realized that it is not seen most clearly in the cartoon in which there were quite a few mistakes in each episode that fans still like to show us today. I don't even know why I liked, or love so much Transformers but that's the way things are. I like the legend line the most ( ofc and others ) because with that line you can sort the characters by their scale approximately as presented in toon. I prefer the most NA, MST ( another ) brands cuz are in MP level. I am aware of how people think in our country about when they hear you like transformers that's why I rarely talk to anyone about it and I don't care what anyone thinks of me .. I'm just saying that people in other countries are as crazy about them as I am   I have been following this forum for a long time, but I just registered here at the beginning 2020 and I can't imagine a day without him. I mostly avoid such long texts because my English is weaker and I apologize to everyone if I didn't write something very well ...

Wow I'm glad that I'm not the only one from Serbia who is collecting toys.  Yes we all loved Transformers and of course it was my favourite cartoon. But we also liked especially Transformers because of our legendary voice-over with Đuza Stojiljković, Nikola Simić, Ljubiša Bačić. I will never forget those actors and voices. They just made my childhood amazing. Also 15 years ago I was in a small group who wanted to restore old cartoons. Most of those cartoons were burned in 5. October revolution. But we restored almost all cartoons with RTB voice-over so like Transformers, Ninja Turtles, Looney Tunes, Shoe People etc. As for Transformers toys I think we are all crazy here and people can't understand why grown up people are collecting toys  But that is our love and passion and we shouldn't care what other people think. I just don't care that I'm minority with this hobby. So my friend do whatever makes you happy  Yes I also have problem with language, I just can't express myself how I want. So I mostly struggle. Wait, I just realised something... Is the communicated height of 1,20m until the tip of his head anteanne, or the shoulders cannons? If its the latter I will have a big problem with display space.  

 

From what I understand it’s 48” to the top of the head.

 

And judging by the size of the shoulder-cannons, it will add another 8" or so on top of that... Jesus Christ. I need to start looking into new display furniture...

 

48 inches tall? Given that T30 Metroplex is apparently 1:150 scale and he's 24in, this fella would clock in at about 1:75 scale.

Never mind I forgot Metroplex's city mode doesn't look anything like a base, they should have chosen Fortress maximus
