I won't be sorry to see exclusives to Walgreens go. I was fortunate to get RA on pulse. Ratchet was a pain. Brainstorm was awful. Bluestreak was probably the easiest to actually get from Walgreens. I couldn't imagine if they had actually got a gi joe exclusive which was rumored for a long time but never happened.

 

Probably the only thing that came close to a GI joe WG exclusive was the die cast figure set from Jada. Out side Walgreens no one else had it.

 

At one time I heard rumors ranging from chuckles to lifeline. And I thought every time someone leaked that rumor oh great a worse s#!+ show than cobra Island

 

Also it would be.

 

Honestly at that point I would have just quit classified and moved on. Only wave that wg ever had in my area was Gung ho cobra commander and red ninja. And they never had the ninja and only saw the other 2 once. Mine never carried the snake eyes origin figures. Thought maybe I'd get lucky and find a bat or alley viper at Walgreens still but only 1 even had a tag for Joe's anymore and it was the titan scale 12 in snake eyes origins figure.

 

The 18 pack? I can't remember where I got mine but I'm 100% certain it wasn't Walgreens

 

Unless something drastic happens, I don't see Walgreens losing a contract anytime soon.

 

I think I got mine from Amazon. I believe BBTS also had the set.

 

I don’t know if it was on sale last week or not, but I found one of those GI Joe packs for $8 last Thursday at a Walgreens that was remodeling.

 

Unless they are the ones who want out.

 

That's entirely possible. They don't want to do that, though, as people like me will only go in there for the exclusives.

 

Given their overall downsizing of all toys in that section, it would seem more they do than don't, but time will tell I suppose.

 

I only went in for their toys. I can get prescriptions cheaper at Walmart, and find merchandise cheaper between target deals,Meijer, Kroger, Walmart, Sam's, etc. Have no need to go to Walgreens or desire. Half the time I hate trying to find exclusives there so grateful when pulse lists them as partnered exclusives.

 

Don't take this the wrong way but given Walgreens current handling of their toy sections in stores and how many of the last year's exclusives have only shown up on their websites... I actually think they do and don't really care about those of us that only go there for their toy exclusives. Walgreens is a pharmacy first and formost. Not a department store.

 

Oh, that's entirely possible. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if they do get rid of the toy department altogether, but they'll be losing customers because of it. They have to do what will help their bottom line (in their minds) if need be. So be it.

Exactly! So, if they stop with the exclusives, I have next to no reason to darken their doorstep. While I'm not a big spender there, some money is better than none. Imagine how many of us won't go there if we no longer have a reason to? Oof.

Most likely the case, I don't deny, but it's still worth mentioning that a large number of us collectors only go there for the exclusives and we're not going to bend over backward to get there once they're gone. I'd imagine we make some kind of an impact, there. But, they have to do what they have to do, and if they get rid of the exclusives... well, guess they have to go.

 

The once Walgreen's exclusive Marvel Legends Quasar figure is now being sold on places like BBTS and EE so fingers crossed that Red Alert and future Transformers exclusives also become available outside of Walgreens and Pulse as well in the future.

 

It's more a matter of time than anything else. These contracts only last so long and then the figures are released for other online retailers to carry them. (In most but not all cases.)
The Netflix bots are in a serious lockdown situation because both Walmart *and* Netflix lay claim to those figures, those decos, those designs. We don't know when (or if) they'll ever expire. (Most likely will, last I heard was 3-5 years.)

The Coneheads and the Ironhide/Prowl set are true conundrums because they're only tied to Amazon and already appeared in Canadian online shops. You'd think Hasbro would meet demand by producing a small amount more. Go figure.

I got Jigsaw this morning. This figure is tempting but it's a little too dark to be used as a "Normal" Silver Surfer.
