Destructicon Scourge had no grey at all - black plastic head to toe - but that was before they got it right with 2 subsequent newer versions.
That's implying that Destructicon Scourge got it wrong, which it didn't, since it wasn't the same design. All I said is that it's reminiscent of that deco in some respects.
I want it! Now Hasbro, do us a solid and give us the other repaint of this mould that we deserve to have.
Looks quite nice, but pretty much nothing can beat the original Laser Prime mold, and I already have the original RID Scourge, so I'm good.
This is a huge overraction. Sure the deco isn't exactly how it was in 2001 but this is undeniably Black Convoy, down to the faction. And they take creative liberties with G1 characters too, he looks more show accurate than Legacy Wildrider and Elita 1. Also did you forget about Metroplex, Override, Jhiaxus, Tarantulas, etc? Because it seems like great care was put into those.
I don't think accuracy is everything, and I feel he looks much more striking like this than if he had more gray.
I think the "pink erasure" was more so a product of the era/demographics. With the target audience still firmly in the kids' camp, they were more mindful of boys being less inclined towards pink colours, and female action figures. As we shift towards a more collector-oriented market, as well as some shifted gender norms for the current era, some of those older considerations are being pushed aside.
The pink shoulder kill this figure for me. Well that’s $50 + save and money I can put towards the recently revealed NA Ymir.
Hasbro is that outlier that's let into a special group as a gesture of peace, but never fully trusted or accepted, and once they make one mistake the judgement rained down on them is that much more extreme.
The difference is, this is the toy I cared about most, so I'm hugely disappointed by the poor deco. The first retail Scourge since 2003, and Hasbro waters it down to another damn Nemesis Prime. Yeah, the toys you list show a lot of care put into them. So why did Hasbro choose to half-ass the character I wanted most?
