I like it. Since this one is a store exclusive, I won't be surprised if we do get another Black Convoy with the CRID paint job. Maybe as a Takara premium finish version.
Well, I'm officially out on this one. Vehicle mode looks great, and the eyes look awesome (take note, Hasbro... You should've painted Prime's eyes. Ugh, he's dead and soulless out of the box.), but robot mode (aside from the eyes) looks completely off due to the deco. I'm really disappointed in this one. I wanted it to be an update of the original. Instead of Scourge/Black Convoy, we ended up with Nemesis Prime and he's been done to death, he's a dime a dozen. Glad I bought Laser Prime, then, because I'd have been really sad had I waited all this time for Scourge only to have it be not what I wanted. I don't mind if they make a Nemesis Prime out of this mold, it's par for the course and makes sense to milk it, but this is not Scourge/Black Convoy. It just isn't. Such a shame. So close, yet so far. Gosh, I hope so. I'll splurge on that. Maybe a Selects or something.
I like the truck mode. That sure is Scourge's truck alright. Very hard to fuck that up so I'm glad they didn't. Robot mode... is not ideal.
Nemesis Prime and Scourge have similar color schemes but they do not have the same color scheme. The two are not freely interchangeable characters, although Nemesis Prime is obviously derived from RiD’01 Scourge. This is not RiD’01 Scourge’s color scheme. Therefore it’s wrong.
Hoping there’s a small chance that the proper deco will be in Select Series at a Voyager price without the cab. Not spending another $50 on a Nemesis deco that devoid itself of lacking additional Teal that made the Nemesis colors so cool to begin with.
...have you actually read what people have posted, then? I mean, we all lay it out quite clearly and plainly. We don't make it hard to figure out what the problems with it are for us. This isn't Scourge, it's not Black Convoy, it's Nemesis Prime and yes there's a substantial difference. If you can't see that from the side-by-side comparison, you're just ignoring it because you like it as-is, so you're biased towards it much like we're biased against it.) It does suck. It would make sense that Glados made this for Hasbro just to screw with us. *shakes fist, angrily* Damn you, Cave Johnson! Bingo. Exactly this. I have nothing against a Nemesis Prime release of the mold, none at all, but this is not Scourge. Don't piss on my leg and tell me it's raining.
I have to admit that he looks pretty good. I'm not intent on getting him, but one falls in my lap I might just bite. Have to agree that the deco does stray from the original a bit, but it's nothing some minimal painting can't fix. Also have to agree that a Toxitron redeco would have been pretty sick.
And even more, it's not even Nemesis Prime since they used the wrong symbols for him going back to my earlier disappointment of the use of the Combatron symbol that was criticized
That's how the part is laid out on the sprue. The missile rack under the front-most flap was unpainted on Legacy Laser but the rest was gray to mask it better. Here it wasn't masked at all. For some reason.
Yeah, sigh. That's pretty great looking. I don't need it of course, or have room for it, or want to spend $55. But.....
