Did Deng do an Animorph's reference with that cover?

I approve, that hits my nostalgia pleasure center.

 

We can't tell you who we are. Or where we live. It's too risky, and we've got to be careful. Really careful. So we don't trust anyone. Because if they find us... well, we just won't let them find us. The thing you've got to know is that everyone is in really big trouble. Yeah. Even you.

This takes me all the way back to when Beast Wars and Animorphs shared shelf space together. I still have my Marco gorilla, Rachel lion and Tri-Rex toys packed away at my Dad's place.

I've been thinking about getting Tri-Rex back out of storage to tussle with Kingdom T-Wrecks.

They began as Animorph merch
before getting shifted into BW.

 

Only two of the Beast Wars Mutants ever made it to shelves here. I have Poison Bite and Razor Claw, but never saw Icebird or Soundwave.

You can totally see the Animorphs heritage in Razor Claw's robot face, that one looks just like a metal Andalite.

Oh man I'm surprised IDW didn't bring back the Mutants. They'd totally fit with the Vox as experimental Cybertronians.

 

The reference in the new cover hits a little something. I loved Animorphs way back when.

 

Show was alright, theme song still holds up.

 

But of course, it was the books that made it. Btw, did you get your discord account back m8?

I think it was for the best. Icebird was pretty crap in both modes, meanwhile Soundwave is a GPS nightmare

 

Wouldn't be surprised to learn another show adaptation was in the works. Given the goliathic pile of content those books comprised, streaming seems like a perfect fit. Each season covering a different novel.

As for Discord, given the numerous setbacks & headaches, I've opted to call it quits entirely. It's just too much trouble with too few rewards.

 

Only here for the Animorph homage. Those covers scared me as a kid

Yea, I lost interest after they did a novel when they went back in time and turned into dinosaurs. I hear jt got SUPER dark afterwards though.

This definitely hits the nostalgia. I loved Animorphs back when I was a kid and I feel like I was the only one who loved the toys. I remember Nickelodeon had a sweepstakes where the grand prize was a walk-on role in the show. I entered, but only got a runner-up prize which was a free Animorphs toy and it was Marco as a gorilla.
