For me, it's just that element that separates the "Early Ver." from the standard "Ver. Ka", that being the colour of the helmet fins. The final white head fins, matching the TV colour scheme, help the head stand out more against the backdrop of the colourful shoulders and the wings. The initial early colouration just sort of blends in with all that mush instead.
The boys are back in town, reunited at last. In order to get Justice's ankle tilts to be usable, you have to tilt the ankle more to get the proper clearance, then you're golden. Another collector goal marked off: matching Justice and Freedom gundam. Now bring on the Providence so I can have these two fight something.
Yeah I feel the extra white on the fins made it stand out more. I’ll probably end up switching parts with my Snow White to see how it looks. I think you’re right by saying there’s a lot of colors going on with the head. I might grow to like it but initially it’s just very jarring to look at. I can’t think of a Gundam with all those colors going on in the head outside of 00 Gundam
That's a pretty neat book! How many pages is it? I'd be tempted but it seems a bit pricey last time I checked. I managed to round out my Metal Build collection thanks to some awesome people on these forums and some new stock on Mandarake Most of these figures have been great upgrades over my OOB gunpla builds, and I'm excited for the Chogokin X Gundam RX-93FF and Metal Build Hi Nu. I also pre-ordered the Red Dragonics and X0 Full Cloth but getting a bit of buyer's remorse on those, as I'm not sure I'm going to have the space for such crazy setups - guess I'll have to see if I can make some new space or I may need to sell them eventually. MB Dynames R3 has me really excited for the eventual Dynames in normal colors - doesn't the Astraea type X already have his sniper rifle?
That's cool. I might get that on my next order from Amazon Japan. I love these kinds of encyclopedia-style books from Hobby Japan. I have a couple of Sentai mecha ones and they're spectacular. I'm happy that this one goes all the way up to the Justice and Hi-Nu.
It actually looks great from what I can see. Problem is that if this was released 10 years back when the line was first starting out, I'd have jumped on it. At this point, because the pricing overall has gone waaaaay up, I need to be super-picky about which ones I grab. So unfortunately, Code Geass isn't one of the series that will be included in my collection of Metal Builds.
YES!! FINALLY! Kallen is best girl and she coming to me. Hmm....I should have bought that Kallen statue to along with this.
I have a similar view. I liked Code Geass. Watched both seasons when they first aired, actually. But I'm not in love with the franchise. At least not enough to drop >$300 on a figure for it without serious consideration being made first. With this being Dragon Scale at that, I'm going to need size comparisons with other MBs to see how it will fit in my collection.
