No $#!+. Strong agreement on that sentiment.

I don't think you can escape it on a daily basis though in the U.S., sadly.

I love my G1 P38 UNCLE carbine MP Megatron, but certainly have no boner for any other assault rifle or machine gun thingy, or whatever your pictures are, version.

Are we talking real NRA wet dream assault rifle (one that really fires high calibre rounds for home defense only) or a toy gun?

I sincerely doubt the OP has the social awareness to grasp this.

As a regular assault rifle, no. Space rail gun thing. Yes. But I prefer him being a military vehicle today. I think it’s weird that the strong leader needs to be man handled by a goon to fight back.

Probably correct, being he has the last 3 posts on the NBK gun prime thread.

I'm going to the range, this weekend. Should I not?

Selling my SUV, since some asshole decided to plow through a parade.

Leaving aside politics and emotional baggage, this is what I don't understand about this request:

I don't understand a desire for non-canon versions of Transformers characters. Like I prefer G1, but I can understand others prefer other TF lines like BW, IDW or RID or even the Bay series movies, but the physical figures are all based on actual TF source material whether cartoon, movie or comic, right?

This? This just seems odd. Like, Megatron's gun alt-mode is a pistol. A Walther model, in particular. Megatron has other alt modes from other canon lines like a tank and a jet. But when he's a pistol, he's the Walther (or a cartoon approximation of it). I've never seen Megatron turn into a rifle in source material. o_O  Am I just unaware of something there?

Get a real one. Leave toys out of it.

It is funny because I bought this Megatron water gun:

    Megatron Water Gun

Make no mistake, it is a fun little gun, but take it anywhere that is not your CLOSED backyard and play with it, you WILL get shot.

I'm still amazed MP36 was made. Yes, I know the Japanese do not see it as we do in the west, but still. IMO, the very last "official" Megatron that turns into a gun we'll ever get.

I bought one. (Had it on preorder.) It's neat. Eyes light up (they pre-install the batteries!) and it actually fires. (Rubbery darts in the shape of bullets, but it fires them!) The transformation is pretty simple, just a bit involved. Plastic quality is not quite up to snuff. I paid $90, shipped, for it. (It's 10 pounds in the box, plus it was crossing state lines, shipping ain't cheap.) If you can get it for the original MSRP ($69.99) and pay for shipping through BBTS, let's say, then it's worth it. Not quite worth what I paid for it, tbh. As for a thing of beauty? Subjective. I personally enjoy it, but it's not going to win any contests in the beauty department.

That's fair, but it's still fun to play with, though.

The other version sports a Nemesis color scheme, so I guess you could consider it a Nemesis Prime. It's clear that NBK wanted some ties to TF with this, beyond the ability to transform. People are just arguing to argue at this point. Apparently, they don't do the whole "agree to disagree" thing and let you both see it your own respective ways. Nope, instead, it's a bunch of "YOU ARE WRONG! STOP IT!"

...it's really tiresome. As if *this* is the hill to die on. *smh* (If something this simple feeds one's superiority complex, my gosh that life must be boring and disappointing.) Just let people enjoy things.

I will agree that this was untimely given recent events. I get the feeling that what we consider Autism is actually just a bunch of teenagers and grown people with ZERO human interaction and nearly fully lacking social graces. It's just easier for their families to sit there and say "Aw, don't bother. They'll turn out okay. Let 'em be who they are." and we end up with the stinky people at Botcon, the ones who become incels or fake virtue signalists, the ones who laugh at dark humor because they don't understand it's horrible to crack jokes at a funeral, or a cancer ward, and make threads such as this one. (I'm not saying OP is in the camp I mentioned just before this, just saying this thread falls within that area.)

I agree with this, honestly. That said, Megatron made his start as a gun and even official sources have celebrated that and honored it in recent years, so it's not exactly a foreign concept that Megatron could be another type of gun in the future. I mean, heck...let's go over the list for a second.

    -G1: Walther P38
    -Classics: Nerf pistol
    -3rd party:
NBK (a cannon thing from Combiner Wars)
    ToyWorld/Zeta Toys (Classics-esque Megatron "Hegemon")
    Make Toys Despotron
    Make Toys Rioter Despotron
Generation Toy kit version (came with their Devastator)
    -MP-05
    -MP-36

And those are the ones I can personally remember. There could be more.

I do think making him a pistol is one thing and homages the original, whereas turning him into an assault rifle comes with a bunch of problems and curious thoughts and criticisms best left alone as they'll become more about the person and less about the product and that's what usually causes problems in the fandom.

eta: i didn't know about the recent incident involving one of these knives when i made this post, just so nobody's reading this thinking "wow what an insensitive dick on this matter"

pretty obvious megatron should turn into one of those gun-shaped novelty knives. i bought a silver and black one last year that's a dubious knife at best, but a hilarious thing to look at/have and not be treated as a toy in general.

Is this a reference to the Dave Chappelle incident?
