Hello! I didn't find any similar threads so forgive me if this has been brought up before. It would appear that IDW has the first five Classics Volumes available on their website in addition to Classics UK Volumes 3 and 4. These recollect original 1980s Marvel Issues and have become relatively hard to find on the after market. They're available to order for $24.99 a piece, which are cheaper than what I've seen them go for from other sellers. I own Volume 4 and I'd definitely recommend picking them up if you're interested in the Marvel comics. Thanks for looking! Does anyone know if the UK books edited or re-colored the collected issues? TFWiki doesn't mention any edits, but I know the US collections have new colors.
The IDW Classics UK volumes use high-quality scans of the original comics, with no edits or retouching. Alas, the fatal flaw with those volumes is that they were cancelled before reaching the end of the UK-original material...
Been looking for these for a while, but some of the prices (online for the first runs) are insane. Thanks for the heads up!
So in a bit of random news, I was able to navigate IDW's website and find listings for Print copies of the Classic Transformers Volumes from 2008-2010. Here is an example of what they looked like. I somehow found a listing for volumes 4 and 5 and proceeded to take the gamble and purchase them. I figured that the listing was old and that eventually my order would be cancelled due to insufficient stock. Fast forward to yesterday and, much to my surprise, this is what I was greeted with: Brand new, just a little bit dusty. Given the aftermarket prices these go for, I was thrilled to have only paid $19.99 a piece for these. I just wanted to give everyone the heads up that IDW still has these available (if you can find them on their site).
I have volume 4. Unfortunately the print quality on the Budiansky issues (Club Con through the wrestling story) is pretty bad. Readable, but a lot of the art is muddy. Maybe I just got a bad copy.
