There could be a corolation to that. If true. I think the real issue that has me miffed, is that these figures should be replaced IMO. It should not matter if we got it from eBay, or some other vendors. Hasbro should step up and make it right. Secondly, they need a better system to replace figures with identical replacements, and not give people random equivalent figures. Even if not in stock with the correct figure, they should put the customer on a waiting list until they do.

That would be a tremendously huge undertaking for Hasbro, and it would not only be rife with possibilities for fraud with people claiming to have been affected that had never had the issues or figures in question, but they would also have to roll figures that are no longer in production into the production roster.

Not saying it won't happen, but I think it's highly unlikely that Hasbro will replace figures.

There's truth to what you say. Fraud is rampant these days. There has to be a better way to deal with situations like this though. Still, it doesn't feel good that a customer gets stuck with a defective/blemished product. It chips away at the companies reputation for quality IMO. It's not good at all. I remember a time when companies in situations like this actually helped the customer out instead of shrugging shoulders and saying "Not my problem." That chips away at the companies customer service, and the mottos/values they claim to uphold.

Mine is 02791 if it helps. No yellowing, non smoker, stored 99% of the time in acid-free boxes and acid-free archival bags, when displayed does not get direct sun but the room is lit by sunlight by North-facing wimdows, I live in Spokane, WA which is a mild desert biosphere w/ moderate rain and all four seasons.

EDIT: Mine was apparently manufactured on October 6, 2020.

@SovereignKnight posted a link in the Yellowing Figures thread on page 26 that links out a MLP fan page with a date calculator decoder.

It would be 2021, not 2011. The first digit in the product code is the last digit of year of manufacture.

Which would be the best choice for a repaint?

The Dirge colored Cyclonus from Five Faces of Darkness

    G1 Ferak and Tornado

    Shattered Glass Cyclonus and Krunix
    F73CA7A5-5832-45FB-BF1D-7C26668BE478.jpeg

    G1 Strafe and Rocketbot
    CD05E825-8691-4C91-AF38-C6AC1E97BA2E.jpeg

Due to Strafe looking nothing like he’s supposed to, I like to imagine this Strafe as actually being Shattered Glass Ferak who happens to have the colors of G1 Strafe who goes to the positive universe and replaces G1 Strafe, going as far as Ferak taking on the name Strafe.

11381 here, yellowed ankle joint and green spots on waist. New fresh out of box.

    My review of the figure:
(My thoughts and conclusions are completely separate from the plastic issues.)

I decided to get Cyclonus on a whim after avoiding him since release. Let's see if he lives up to the massive hype.

    The good:
    - On my copy the joint tolerances are perfect.
    - The articulation is generally up to standard.
    - Light-piping works very well.
    - The jet mode is spectacular, a really good alt-mode design to begin with and a really good interpretation of that alt-mode.
    - The proportions and silhouette of the upper body are great and exactly how they need to be.
    - In person, the color matching between the painted side chest pieces and the rest of the plastic is spot on.

    Neutral points:
    - The headsculpt, like Rodimus is awful in photos but is actually acceptable in person.
    - His purple just needs to be a tiny bit more blue.
    - The much-hyped transformation was just...ok. I would have preferred a different solution for his knees - jamming them in to get to alt-mode does not feel good at all. The type of movements involved - spinning parts, plucking pieces out and so on lack the pleasurable tactile feel of a really good transformation.
    - His knees aren't really a problem in hand and it isn't hard to get them to settle in a good position.
    - The side chest panels not sitting flush in alt-mode does not bother me at all.

    The bad:
    - His overall design seems unfinished. He has so little surface detail he almost looks like a first design draft. The detail present on the alt-mode is not carried over to the robot mode.
    - To my eyes his lower body doesn't match his upper body aesthetically. His shins are too blocky and his feet are too small.
    - The plastic on this figure seems really weak. In terms of "hand feel" he just doesn't feel substantial or solid in the way that Siege Prime or Kingdom Rodimus do.
    - The type and color of the unpaintable plastic used for this joints is ugly and looks like yellowed silver plastic.

    Conclusions:
    - Best displayed in alt-mode.
    - Definitely belongs in the list of top mainline alt-modes ever made, this coming from someone who will most likely sell off this guy shortly after this review.
    - For me at least, Cyclonus in no way lives up to the gigantic hype around him, unless you completely ignore his transformation and robot mode.

All in all I'm happy to have had the chance to experience this figure, but ultimately it isn't for me.

Guys, what’s causing the discolouration? Is it the type of plastics used? The weather? I’m curious…

I am reporting that my newer batch of Cyclonus figures have not yellowed, and I have had them for over a year. Looks like my gamble paied off. My old ones are still as yellow as they could be, and some purple parts changed to a greyish like color. When I get a chance I'll upload current photos.

I picked Kingdom Cyclonus up at Ollie's for $20 yesterday. For about 33% off MSRP, I was like "Why not?"

Having not read this thread prior, all I have to say is WOW! It's so clean for a mainline figure that turns into an aircraft! The only thing about it that bothers me a little bit is that the side torso panels won't go flush in his alt mode, but other than that this is a cool figure! If I can get my hands on Galvatron and Scourge, I might sell my old CHUG deluxes. These new figures just blow them out of the park! (And so does their cost  )

I saw a yellowed Cyclonus inside a package at the store the last saturday.

You might think Im crazy but the think that bother me the most about this release is the canopy facing the floor instead of facing up in robot mode as its supposed to be in both, the original toy and the cartoon.
