I say yes. Bring on the extra added humanoid robot mode.

Skylynx, I always viewed as a beast Duo Con or like Masterforrce Overlord.
I would love for Sky and lynx to merge to form a humanoid robot mode. Torso and legs like the Duo cons vehicles form a humanoid robot mode. Sky and lynx could still keep all there other OG modes. Separate beast modes, separate vehicle modes. Combined Beast and combined vehicle modes.

As far as Trypticon goes. I don't think a extra humanoid robot mode would work for the weirdly blocky 1986 design. I think a humanoid robot mode would work best for the Fall of Cybertron video game Trypticon designs. As the fat arms and fat legs in Beast mode can unfold long and form longer humanoid robot legs and longer arms. With the Beast chest transforming into a humanoid robot chest. Beast head unfolding to reveal a humanoid robot head. Beast back transforming into a humanoid robot back. Thinking one side of the pelvic looks beast, while the other side of pelvic looks humanoid robot. Toy can Transform From T-Rex , then into humanoid robot, then into the Nemesis space ship. With a mock 4th mode that looks like a attack city base.

If some don't like the newly added humanoid robot modes on these toys. They have the option to pretend they don't. Enjoy the modes you like and don't transform them into humanoid robot modes.

I envision Skylynx being Commander class. With a 12 inch tall combiner Duocon robot mode.

Thinking Trypticon can be a Titan class toy. With a 18 inch tall beast mode. That Transforms into a 23 inch tall robot mode.

 

They HAVE robot modes. They don't need humanoid forms.

I mean, sure.
My only criteria is that they look cool and have good-quality toys. Neither of which is mutually exclusive with G1-accuracy.

I always thought it was cool that there were Transformers that didn’t have humanoid modes. It makes sense…they are robots, so they wouldn’t be limited to human form.

(On the other hand, some of the live action alien monstrosities just look like vehicles that had their parts scrambled and do nothing for me.)

In fact, I would like to see more transformers lean into non-humanoid primary modes. (In my opinion, it was a marketing blunder when Power Core Combiners called the limbs drones instead of just letting them be Transformers without robot modes, like Slammer, Grandslam, or Raindance).

 

No. They already have robot modes. Hell, Sky Lynx has three! There's no reason to remove their distinctiveness by making them humanoids.

 

What about robot modes for Ravage and Laserbeak?

Hell...all of the cassette bot animals!

Nah, them not having traditional robot modes is a big part of their appeal.

 

I like the video game approach of the Nemesis being Trypticon's alt mode and the dinosaur being his robot mode.

 

No. They are fine as is. Their differences make them more unique than your standard bot. Variety is the spice life after all.

Could be cool as a one-off. I'm in favor of non-humanoid robot modes but as a "something different" kind of release I'd be down for it. But then, I'd want even more creative reinventions of other characters, too. A jet Optimus, an insectoid Bumblebee, maybe more unique designs like we had in the ROFT era, etc.

They already have robot modes. Just not humanoid ones. And they already have excellent toys at Commander and Titan classes.
