I think purple is harder to do with chrome, but I also think it IS chrome, just harder to tell. They probably had to make it more durable for the feet since the other 2 have it on things that don't cause friction and I think his feet are also die cast, so to match that they couldn't do it to the head. I don't even care though. It looks great imo. Even if it's a bit off. I cannot wait for this thing.

 

Yeah I was trying to figure it out since the picture isn’t the greatest quality and the Primal next to it gives off a chrome shine compared to Megatron. If it’s a metallic type on him than that’s perfectly fine with me.

 

He IS different colors than the show. It's visible on various aspects. But honestly don't even care. Just happy to get my hands on this.

Hasbro's TM Megatron was dark brown, then the cartoon made him black, and then Takara made their Metals Megatron black to match. Lots of folks only remember the Hasbro release colors.

The tummy gap is unfortunate. Hadn’t noticed it before, thought its there all the way back to the initial renders. Not a deal breaker for me though.

 

His T-rex arms, and shin pieces where the wheels flip out need to be light grey. His head and chest are supposed to be like a dark metallic black/Grey. His arms and waist on down is supposed to be that dark black. Making everything just straight up black does make him look off.

 

Two issues I see.

One is the purple color is off, it's more redish purple on the show, this makes the black look more stark in comparison.
Two is that the shoulder armor should be closer to the chest skull,or it should be wider, as they are further away than in the show it make the chest purple look more isolated and stand out more.

Metallic purple should be closer to one of the first two figures.



You can see how close the shoulder pads edges are to the chest skull here. While the figure has a wider gap

Perhaps it's also just too black, as this fan digi paint looks better to me.

For anyone concerned about the colors. The image basically says something along the lines of it being test colors and isn't finalized.

 

That version's waist joint is clearly copper or a light gold connected to a grey or silver tail adapter, I also noticed the robot neck on the show is copper and silver colored. Well so far the only MP Transart figure I haven't had to do a lot of repaints on is Ravage. And even he got some touch ups.

I'm sure I'll have to fix Megatron as well. But with a little effort they can still look closer to the show.

Nah. The waist/belt is the same color as the tail -- silver, but reflecting reddish light in a way that makes it look copper. The, uh, dino-crotch holster thing is a different, more matte gray that doesn't reflect light as much.

Man, every time the 1.0 or 2.0 of JX is posted it makes me regret waiting until the 3.0 version came out to pick it up. I have the dumb Cryotek parts and the matte finish is cool and all but the regular one doesn't look as glossy as I thought.

Anyways, yeah the scale is a little off but not by a huge amount iirc. I know the size chart was just posted, but I think this is the biggest and closest we are gonna get since everyone is too CHICKEN to make a scaled one. Buh BAWK.

 

the largest oversight imo is Cheetors diecast legs the added weight to flight mode makes utilizing stands a challenge while also keeping torso from not buckling down.
