How'd you get the thighs to close up? Aren't the replacement thighs exactly the same?

I'm not sure if anyone else has found a spot on Black Zarak, while in robot mode, for Black Roritchi. I did not feel like having 2 spears in Titan mode, so I used the bottom half of Roritchi as Zarak's tail section. It actually locks securely in place behind the shield. The arm pieces went in the back of Zarak's, while Roritchi's chest piece fits securely onto Zarak's lower leg panel.
Sorry for the wash from the flash, as it really brings out the difference in gold tones. It really is not as glaringly obvious in person.

    There's been a separate DK-33 thread since before x-mas.

Yeah, I finally did order through them, $26 for Priority shipping, and they shipped it Monday. But tracking showed “acceptance” for three days. Now today, it’s finally showing that it’s “arrived” in Austin Texas. So it took three days to go from Austin to Austin…… Because of labor shortages or whatever, it probably sat on the dock:/ So much for the usual three day TD shipping I was expecting.lol

Toy Dojo got back to me and thanked me, after I gave them the heads up, because they’ve been losing a lot of packages lately from Fedex and USPS, including missed scans and full-on disappearances, due to this mis-handling.

That appears to be the complaint thread…..

Uggggh, this is so annoying. I can't seem to get the upper thighs solid and locked closed. I've followed the instructions to put 2 gaskets into each of the two ratchets. But the thighs keep separating. I've tried both the DNA black screws and the original silver ones. The silver seem to work slightly better.

At this point I'm wondering if I can find slightly longer screws or something, or if I need to do something else to keep this tightly closed.

    Any recommendations?

I have the same problem with mine and I've seen others here mention it. What I think is happening is the plastic that the screw is trying to bite into is too thin, so it ends up just stripping it out instead of tightening down.

What I've considered doing (but haven't gotten around to yet) is to add some sort of piece in the hole on the opposite side to give the screw something more substantial to grab onto. Something like a little donut, with a hole for the screw to go into. I have a 3D printer so I could easily make something with that, but for others that don't have that luxury, I've though of the little nylon spacers you can find in the fasteners section of a hardware store. Something along these lines (I don't think this is the exact right size, but it's close): https://www.menards.com/main/hardwa...9-c-9551.htm?tid=-4806574018875368692&ipos=11 Or maybe there is some sort of tubing that could be cut down to do the same thing.
I would probably cut a notch on one end that could be used with a flathead screwdriver to aid in installation and removal.

Hmm. Doing the second leg, it may also be that I just don't have the right tools to push the self-tapping screws in all the way. I'm just using hand bits, and they have sharp points (someone mentioned that earlier in the thread), so maybe that's why it isn't biting properly. Not sure.

Edit: Okay, maybe this is the answer. I took the gaskets out of the thigh swivel joints (the ones that are directly pushing against where the screws plug in). I figure I don't need the extra joint strength there, at least at the moment, and it is definitely staying "sealed" better.

I didn't use any of the gaskets when I installed mine, and it snapped shut nicely. I think either the gaskets are providing too much thickness, or alternatively, you didn't get the "clip" at the bottom of the purple piece (where it touches the lower leg) inserted all the way (it was tight on mine). I tightened the screws with an ordinary screwdriver and had no issues.

Are you installing the lower legs as well? After hemming and hawing over it, I only installed the upper legs--the lower legs just make his legs too long and it doesn't look right to me.

Edit: Did some measurement, the upper legs add almost exactly 1/2" of height, which gives him 13" of leg for 22" of overall height (meaning his legs are 59% of his overall height). Stock height is 12.5" of leg for 21.5" overall height (meaning his legs are 58% of his overall height). So they don't affect the proportions much. The lower leg pieces from the kit are 7" long, compared to a little under 6.5" for the stock kit. Another 1/2" would push his legs to a little more than 60% of his total height, which is probably why it's just enough to look "wrong".

Yea, I think the gaskets may be the issue some are having. I used 1 gasket on the top most upper leg extension and had no problems whatsoever closing the parts.

    RE: DK-33
I am still not sure about the longer legs.
It's ambitious on DNA Design part, but I don't really need BZ or Scorpinok to be taller.

well after having them both. i do say the extension definitely enhanced the figs over the stock configuration.

The thigh extensions look really nice. Still not sold on the calf extensions--Transformers tend to already have overly long lower legs compared to the upper legs (in stock configuration, roughly 2/3 of Scorp's legs are calf).

I regret not getting the gun kit for Scorp. I didn't realize how defenseless he is now that I have black Z. Sadly it looks it'll never be reissued for a sane price again. I'm always wary of these kits because by the time you're done buying them all and getting the stickers from toyhax you've basically spent as much as you did for the figure in the first place but they only climb in value in time.

After getting the Zarak kit and installing the longer legs, I quite like how they look. The proportions are not as bad in person as I thought they'd be

May have to track down the Scorponok leg kit at some point, but having BZ taller than him definitely makes his precense more intimidating

My little nephew was messing around with mine and accidentally broke it :(
