Hey folks just a heads up but in the PlayStation store,"SAMURAI SHOWDOWN NEOGEO COLLECTION" is on sale for dirt cheap for $5.99! Has a total of 7 games. Available only from 4/27 - 5/11.

 

That is dirt cheap, I don't think I've ever seen it that low even on a Steam sale. Even with the complaints about the netcode and a few other things, I'd grab it right away.

 

KOF XV's story mode in 2 minutes (spoilers)

 

So I ended up getting that Samurai Showdown collection I posted above and I must say it's well worth the price of admission! Seriously brings back soooo many memories @ the Laundry mat and 7-11 playing these! I do only finding myself mainly playing SS 1&2 over the rest. Never really got into the rest of the series after SS2.

Anyways my mains were always Ukyo and Genjuro and I never really knew their story or lore but came across this well made history of the 2. Some tragic ass shit man! Lol

And there's more origin storys/lore of SS and other SNK classics. It's a great channel,check him out 

 

Haven't watched this guy yet, I'll give him a try. Last year, I gave myself a big re-education on SNK lore by watching a bunch of ShoryuGame videos. He did a small multipart series of his own going over Samurai Shodown's back-and-forth history.

 

I've watched that guy here and there but with all do respect,I have a hard time understanding him bc of his accent. His content is great but I usually have to watch with subtitles.

 

No worries, I figured that might be an issue for others, I guess I'm lucky I have an easier time understanding him.

 

I don’t know about Steam, but on PSN there’s a number of other SNK fighters that are marked down in addition to the SS Collection.
Art of Fighting Collection, the Real Bout Fatal Fury Collection, and individual fighters like Last Blade 2 and Garou are on sale. I think there’s more but I can’t recall off the top of my head.

 

I'm jealous, aside from a few random King of Fighters, Garou, and the two Last Blade games, Steam doesn't have those older collections, I think they were console exclusive when they came out. Hopefully SNK does a modern remaster of more individual fighters or new retro collections in the future. Seems like a good deal for those on PSN.

 

Thx for the heads up  , Personally for me,I never dove deep into those franchises/series. Part of me wants to buy them just to have but I know I won't play them (sorta like the KOF Collection last month) as much as Samsho 1&2. Still a hell of deal and as crazy as I sound,MAN... WHERES THE "WORLD HEROS COLLECTION!?" Hahaha,One of my guilty pleasures alongside the 1st "King of the Monsters". They're in the PS Shop but I'll be damned if I pay $8 for each lol. Thx tho

Hey for all you KOF folks I came across this book on a YT video as it sponsored the video. Looks like a well made book on the history of the KOF franchise.

So, I know I am probably in the minority, but I kind of dig Geese's gangster look over his classic skin. Don't get me wrong it's cool it's free and everything but just nice to see some new takes on design of characters.

 

Totally is, I am grateful with the trailer SNK announced you get both now, so it's always good to have a choice.

 

Also, on kof xv. is anyone playing online? I did a bit when it launched but now I am rather leery of the Rugal abusers and the already annoying Vanessa players. Not afraid to get my ass kicked just want to play someone who won't spam the same four moves like a wall defense.

 

I haven't done Ranked since the first week, but from a friend that's a bigger SNK fan than I am has been telling me, there's been real issues with Matchmaking, at least on the PC side.

 

Its on the ps4 side too from what I recall, maybe with the next update it'll be balanced a bit better

 

Yea I absolutely love Geese's new gangster/suit outfit in KOF XV! It's always nice to see any character in different clothes.

Even though I'm not a Geese main in T7 (just don't have him down) when his 2nd trailer was revealed I was amazed by his "Phoenix Kimono" outfit. Truly Peacocking swag lol!

Also gotta love his Retro Style AOF purple suit.

 

ah yeah I forgot about that one, I haven't gotten the dlc past Negan, but he was probably the best DLC from that game (I don't count akuma as he came with the launch)
