Anyone else having weird yellowing issues with Starscream?

 

Mine is white as the driven snow. No yellowing at all.

Yes, but it's very similar to the Classics Starscream design, which is why the term "outdated" was used.

It may be a new mold, but lacks articulation among other issues depending on who you ask.

 

Agreed. ER Scream might be a newer figure but his design philosophy was absolutely “inspired” by the Classics mold, where Siege has the more modern articulation and imo he feels better in hand than ER.

 

Got mine today. I think this is the first time in a while that Hasbro has used the USPS to deliver my package. I appreciate them moving away from Fedex on some of this stuff.

Now time to figure out what to do with the set of comics, any thoughts on a reasonable price for the set of 5 comics if I do sell? Aside from a couple comics from my childhood, I am not really into that stuff, as nice as these look.

Just picked mine up today from the shelf..
WTF...it's not even in sunlight.
Both sections that attached the shoulder to thethe forearm are yellow.
So are the center sections on top of the shoulders... both

 

Also back of legs..and they face the back of the shelf and get zero sunlight..

Something is wrong with the mixture of white plastic in these areas

 

Well for starters, the type of plastic used for those parts is different from the plastic used for the rest of the figure, as those are all joints.

 

Yep, I've had the same issue with the joint plastic on mine too. Hope someone finds a solution targeted to this specific type of plastic

 

My SG Starscream, G2 Ramjet and Sandstorm all have yellowing sections regardless of what room of the house or open box or not. Same with some Megatrons and specifically Netflix Soundwave, he hurts the most as there isn't a replacement for him and he's such a prominent character. Soundwave also has yellowing in some of his blue parts, like the arm connections. I don't think the peroxide trick that works on G1 era plastics would work since it seems to be the plastic itself that's bad and not just it's exposure to sun or air.

Yellowing, not just in white plastic but also in different colors is just an “improvement” in plastic low quality! And we also have to consider the short time, those line are practically new and they have yellowing plastic issues!

 

I think they became aware of the yellowing quickly. there was a burst of figures during ER/Netflix/Selects production that had it, but as far as I know, SG starscream was the most recent, and I haven't heard of any Kingdom or later run figures with it (though we get the auto breaking tabs like on Blackarachnia and SS Hot Rod now
