I can confirm this is true.

 

I gave up on BBTS and ordered from Toy Dojo. Adding him gave me free shipping on something else I wanted, so it wound up being a net savings of $10 and I get it sooner. Also shipped my PoL since I was just waiting on Medicus.

 

This Assaultus looks like it has the add-on kit. It's a little shorter without that.

 

I'm not certain, but there are screw covers on the sides of the chest under the wheels. It could be a peg from one of those.

 

I appreciate the suggestion, but I don't think that's it, the screw covers are almost perfectly flat and don't use pegs to hold them in place. The busted peg looks like it has to be from another part of the bot

 

Did you transform it? I feel like you'd find the culprit during transformation when something doesn't peg in when it should.

 

Yeah, went through the transformations a few times, the break on the piece is pretty smooth at an angle, so it might be hard to notice if it's a small tab in

 

Any word which will be the next member and will it be released this year?

 

2:1 Blades, 3:1 Hotspot, 10:1 Groove, and 20:1 Streetwise.

 

Presumably they will be able to reuse some Vortex stuff for Blades?

 

I've been looking mine over and the closest thing is the door joints but that's not 100% either. I'm stumped.

 

Can they? They transform differently and transform into different copters

 

Not to mention that the tail on Vortex forms his head, but the tail forms Blades' legs. Assuming they'd be the same just because they're both some kind of helicopter is how you end up with Combiner Wars.

 

I've done that occasionally because I wasn't paying attention. But it's bullshit that TFsource is sending you used figures. Sounds like when GameStop used to let employees borrow, play, and reseal games.

I hope not. Streetwise was the only one I was remotely interested in for this set.

 

No way anything from Vortex gets used in Blades, they are completely different in every mode. Even the arm mode’s bicep is different as the preliminary design doesn’t have the thighs compress to form the bicep leg the other arm bots.

 

...I mean, they might be able to reuse the hands...

 

Even those are different. The combined mode hand might share some parts with First Aid’s but Blades hands are different shape, Vortex’s were rounder/contoured somewhat in order to fit in the pod/intake/things in helicopter mode.

 

It's obvious that both of blade's and vortex's initial designs were scratched out on napkins from olive garden and saved onto the same floppy disc for ultimate safe guarding. Sooo, they definitely share the exact same design, case closed! Also you know, helicopters...DUH!

 

I absolutely love my Assaultus and Medicus and I'm really excited for the rest of this set. All members look so good (at least by the renders we've seen so far).

But that cockpit backpack on Blades stands out like a sore thumb, especially since all other members are so clean.

I accept that Onslaught's proportions are a bit wonky (and Hot Spot's will probably be too), but I don't actually mind; they're space alien transforming robots, not humans. And I love their chunkyness.

But after how elegantly they did First Aid's back I'm just a little disappointed that Blades' just has that cockpit hanging out, even if the red flaps may be toon accurate.

I'm hoping for Streetwise next, then Groove, then Blades (hopefully with a slight redesign to fold away that cockpit...), and lastly Hot Spot with the proper tolerances for the ratchets this time (my first issue Onslaught is stable enough in combined mode, but yeah, the ratchets really could've been a tiny bit righter).

Anyway, back to drooling over the teaser renders again...
