I am the biggest Lego fan and I'm mostly into everything Lego puts out. I use Brickset to track my collection, and they automatically calculate the sticker price value of it. There's a down payment on a house stored in one of the rooms in my apartment.

Imagine saying "Kreo did it better" as a serious statement.

Hey, I know this is a transformers thread but since you mentioned that you have a little info on retailers, can you please answer a similar question? Do you know if the new Lego Back To The Future Delorean will also eventually be available at other retailers, or will it only be available at Lego stores and Lego.com where it is currently sold out now at both places. Thanks for any info.

The other part of the equation is that Hasbro, a major toy manufacturer themselves who own the Transformers IP, are also involved. There is a chance that we might have a Blizzard situation where Lego could make multiple sets using the licensed IP (Overwatch, in Blizzard's case).

Hasbro loves repaints and who's to say that they haven't struck a deal with Lego to make additional character sets? It's too early to tell at this point but I do agree that if any other Transformers would be made, it'll most likely be Bumblebee seeing how Lego has worked with VW before with fully licensed Lego VW Beetle and camper van sets. Villain characters typically get the shaft, unfortunately.

Lego is moving away from having sets absolutely exclusive to a single source in recent years in response to complaints about the difficulty collectors have had obtaining some past exclusive sets. Lego now tries to give collectors the ability to order any set direct from them.

I think the only extra they could do is a bonus polybag set for early orders, but it would not big enough to build another character. They have done related promos for the launch of some sets previously.

Most full sets like this are generally available for two years. It may sell out at release but more will be available later. This will not be difficult to obtain.

Unfortunately Lego is still holding off on releasing the second series of Overwatch sets due to allegations about Blizzard. Lego already has business relations with car manufacturers which could help if they want to do any additional Autobots.

Lego doesn't really need to do recolors of sets. Other toy companies do this to get more use out of their investments in molds, but a majority of Lego parts get reused in several sets to get the most use out of their molds.

Perfect gag to release next April Fool's... long as Lego is OK with it and the relationship eventually lets Has/Tak design more Lego Transformers like this set.

    I'll take 8

Yeah, this is cool and all, but I don't know if it's worth $170. Lego has always been expensive and only gotten more so over the years. I feel bad for all the kids out there trying to justice their parents buying this for them, I know I would have. It's a cool gimmick and all, but still kinda a hard sell.

Looks great and I’m still gonna preorder but…

…is anyone else a bit concerned about the head sculpt. The eyes just look sooooo lifeless.

This set is designed and marketed for adults. I'm sure there are kids out there that will want it, and parents that won't buy it for them, but there's no reason to react to a set that a lot of people are excited about by arbitrarily invoking a hypothetical victim.

I think this is a mindset that some portion of toy fandoms have in general: rather than recognizing that we are often a -- if not the -- intended audience, we have to invent a fictional child, a "legitimate" market, and privilege that perspective.

We can argue about the extent that Generations Transformers are intended for kids or adults, but at least in this case, it's not necessary. It says 18+ right on the box.

While this is true, there have been X-Wing sets that were recolors of a previous set. 75149 being a blue/grey recolor of the black/orange 75102 set, and a few X-Wing polybags come to mind.

True, but very rare. That usually only crops up in licensed themes (probably just Star Wars, really) where the two colourations represent something specific, with a roughly equivalent value to the fandom that warrants doing both variants.

And usually, there'll at least be a small side build, or exclusive Minifigs at least to set the kits apart.

[edit] There have been times when Lego's reused builds, though. Like the Speed Champions Porsche 911, that had a single-pack release in white, but also featured in a twin-pack in lime green.

The fuck are you talking about? Take a Zanax, it's a joke about kids wanting something that's really expensive. Idk where the fuck you got this rant from, but ok. I was saying it's a hard sell for me because of the price, take it as you may. Idk wtf that last part has to do with it since I never mentioned it but sure why not. Yeah, I get people are excited for this, but I think I would wait on this one.

Ah yes, the "chill, I was just joking" defense, when the thing you said prior wasn't the least bit funny and the guy responding to you wasn't being particularly pushy or aggressive, either, all in a shallow attempt to paint them like the bad guy when you get called out over saying something dumb.

Starscream wpuld't be so hard to do, the jet mode doesn't need to be 100% accurate and Lego did similar jets before. I expect the rockets to not be included in the jet mode and detachable instead. [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

Now, if F15 is retired it might be, but I didn't find info that this jet is still not in use.

Thing is, to look anything like a jet in lego form, it wouldn’t transform. Getting rid of a lot of the appeal this prime has. I just don’t see it.
