This Whirl has the silver thighs from the T30, so I doubt it’s anything more than an Easter egg. Question though, could a weapon attach underneath the helicopter’s cockpit on the figure?

Then why even have a pretender shell? You're a mass shifting, form changing robot. If you're not using the shell to alter your appearance to blend in with the dominant population of a planet in a more direct way than hiding as a vehicle or other mass appropriate object you can already change into, why bother with a shell that makes you a 30 foot tall version of that species? It's not hanging up on the idea, it's using the idea as it was intended to be.

 

Good idea, considering the skeleton of them is fairly slender without the car bits I could totally see it working.

With all the remolding that Impactor and the Fossilizers got, I wouldn't be surprised to see Whirl's legs remolded a little to better accomodate both leg positions for him.
