I bought the R.E.D. version of TFP Knockout. Best representation of the character that we’ve gotten, imo. And I would leave him in robot mode most of the time anyway so I’m fine with him not transforming.
I doubt Hasbro will ever make a Transformer that looks exactly like they're supposed to in both robot and alt mode. Getting a non-transforming figure/statue is a way to get the best looking representation of the character in robot form. It's nice to have a good looking robot figure rather than a compromised toy with all kinds of backpacks and kibble making the robot mode look crappy. I good example is Arcee. I took off her huge backpack and added a 3D printed backback that looks way better in robot mode. But, now that I did that I can't transform her into her car mode. But, I don't care. I just bought a 2nd one to keep in car mode if I want to display her like that.
*sees new studio series 86 arcee images* ...I'm just gonna keep on appreciating Animated arcee. She ain't flawless, but she is fabulous.

He’s been consistently $169.99 + S/h on BBTS for a while now. Which is consistently also outside of my price range and it pisses me off because he’s got a rad color scheme that looks way better than boring old scorponok’s. Also he has a spear. I want him but cant afford him. Also why the heck do the figures take up so much space?! Like I want to have them all, but my house is small. joking “rant” aside, actual rant: We keep getting reissues of stuff like G1 and BW, which is awesome for people who like those lines/figures. *decides not to soap box about them not reissuing the Fuzors or Transmetals yet* But when are they gonna reissue toylines I actually care about like RiD2001 or the Unicron Trilogy? I just want an RiD 01 Prime (preferably the sam’s club yellow one…) but they go for like $300+ on ebay and that’s waaaaaayyyy too much.
Maybe they are waiting for the other series to get to their 25th anniversaries to do more of them. The Encore series started in 2007 so about G1's 25th and Vintage BW started last year with BW's 25th.
Silly tinfoil hat me would speculate that shortpacked and store exclusive good toys don't get reissued because (in addition to corporate shenanigans) someone behind the scenes has a stash they plan to put on the aftermarket eventually. You know, like with certain long-lived trading card games. Then I take off the silly hat and remember it's mostly just corporate shenanigans contributing to why we don't have more nice things. Editing in an actual rant: (Arcee pic sourced from tfwiki -- Prowl pic source: me) ^ using animated prowl as a base for prime arcee's toys would have worked so much more effectively to match the prime animation model. It's spooky how well this would have worked. I'm actually quite sorry to keep harping on bikeformers. I'm bored with me ranting on this, too. But older toys with clever engineering should not go forgotten just because a new thing is on the shelves, and I'll keep shoving animated and even older figures in people's faces to remind them how good toys can be if I must.
Here’s my less-than-PC rant: I’m autistic. I know we are overrepresented in this fandom due to a variety of factors (clicky clicky moving things and insanely complex mythos etc) and it’s kinda cool that there are so many kindred spirits. That said...could ya’ll try to have just a slight bit of self awareness and recognize that you miiiight just be a bit more picky, specific, anal-retentive and maybe even unrealistic than the neurotypical fans, ? And perhaps some of these preferences are unrealistic to expect? This stuff isn’t doing the stereotypes any favours.
Well, I was gonna put this in the "Waiting for a package" thread bit it seems to have vanished, so here it goes. I am sick and tired of Hasbro using the god-damned unreliable, garbage shipping service that is FedEx! In addition to recent events where my Legacy Arcee and Skids failed to be delivered by their scheduled date twice now, first one being the 9th and the second yesterday the 15th, it has now been 10 days since FedEx acquired them and no delivery. The drivers aren't even scanning them when they leave a facility. I've also had problems in the past where FedEx has delivered boxes from Pulse to the wrong address. The street I live one has and East and a West. Leaving full street name out for reasons. I live at 44 West. Yet some incompetent driver who doesn't know what a GPS is consistently delivered my packages to 44 East. Not my address, dumbass. And to make it even worse, Smartpost? Where FedEx is supposed to hand it off to the local PO for final delivery? Yeah. They won't do that now for some reason. I've had better with UPS.

Agreed. And if I may... I am so fucking sick and tired of the backpacks on Arcee. i am so fucking sick and tired of the bullshit 'toon accuracy' argument to have her be a supermodel looking like she's got a frame backpack slung over her shoulders. So far the two best 'Arcee as pink car' toys have been Animated and Titans Return, and the latter is a remold of Blurr! If 'show-accurate' means what we're getting with her, then hang show-accuracy! Have the fucking car bits integrate into her robot mode!
