These are good points, but still, this is Hasbro/Takara. Hoist is going to be a low-effort Trailbreaker retool. Just watch.

 

After careful analysis of such factors as price, quality, state of my onions, accessories, dog biscuits, company, projected decline of the UK economy, and the all important how-much-i-give-a-fuck-about-the-character index, I have concluded that the xtb trailbreaker/hoist are perfectly fine and I'm not forking over god knows how much for very slight upgrades.

Expect a full report in the Fortean times next month, including an interesting article about a man who can fire moths out of his arse.

 

I am afraid of this too. I still remember the Arcee / Nightbird case too well.

 

I think FT did it better. MP-56 looks to slick, or anime to me. If that makes sense. Trailbreaker was bulkier.

 

So XTB is not that good but toon version is tolerable. Some pins also falling. I think i will buy it and see it for myself. He is still the best looking Hoist to me. FT is fail and if Takara make Hoist it will be probably messed with backpack and headsculpt.

 

Outrider cleans up better and looks more heroic, but trailbreaker literally is the character. Go hyper toon or go with the hybrid mix of toon/real world?

Honestly though options work better. Fanstoys are getting way too lazy in the accessories department. Since Quietus the only decent one was Tesla as a response to xtb, but overall gun and maybe an extra face. Upsets me  

 

I don't know. People keep showing him from the front, and sure, from the front he looks fine. But any other view, his sides and back are just a mess and don't look like the cartoon. I just don't think he was this dumpy in the cartoon. Hoist was, but not TB.

 

IMO a victim of forcing him to look like a real truck, so he doesn't have the tapered hood

 

He looks like he would if he appeared in cyberverse transformers series. Way more anime and stylized. Not g1 blocky. At least that’s how I remember it.

 

It isn't really the real truck look that prevents tapering, it is the fake engine detail under the hood that really gets in the way. MMC Terraegis solved the tapering issue from a squared off truck and it wasn't difficult at all.

 

The 2 things I don't like about Hasbro's -- the blue sides in his chest, and the hollow ankles. The rest I think looks better than the Fan's toys, but we will see when people do side by side comparisons before I buy one.

 

Announced within weeks, released within a few months after Inferno if that. The same happened with the Lambos SSwipe/ Red Alert, the vans, and the Datsuns.

I think we'll see an announcement for Hoist within a few months and a release gap after Trailbreaker similar to the seekers, just based on what we've seen them do the remolds since the beginning. I'm willing to bet that he's already been created.

Seriously though FT really needs to change the white on Outrider to light gray. When he's next to Ratchet and Wheeljack like that it's super obvious he's not white.
