Yeah it isn't super consistent (yet?), none of the Beast Wars folks have it - and I don't think Laser Prime has it on his box, but I believe listings did call him out as G2 Universe. That doesn't even include some of the seemingly late-game additions like Nightprowler...would he be "Universe Universe"?

 

You know what, I won't even be mad as long as this means we get "Animated Universe" and "Cyberverse Universe" in Generations. I didn't think that was likely, but if G2 is its own thing, we may as well.

 

Depends on some things really. Technically Impactor's comic universe is specifically Marvel UK while the G2 universe is Marvel US (or a derivative of it)

 

I appreciate them trying to turn Legacy into their version of a Multiverse, but it's honestly just made people grumpier. I don't think we get nearly the backlash about the Prime trio if they weren't labeled as such and just had those names.

And for obvious legal reasons they can say "Comics" as much as they want but have to be very careful about not saying "Marvel" or "IDW" in the wrong places.

 

The UK and US being considered different universes sure would explain @barry ...

 

Hell I live in Minnesota and the last time I took a trip to Florida it felt like a different universe.

 

Weren't Marvel UK and Generation 2 Comics in divergent continuities? So technically it might work. I think.

That ain't necessarily so as, thanks to the later Regeneration 1 ignoring it (among other sequel series doing the same IIRC?), plus G2 itself being a contradiction/retconning of Furman's prior G1 comic prose epilogue story, G2 could be regarded as an Alternate Future Timeline of the Comic Universe, related but branched off.

 

Correct, as they were originally written. G2 follows on from Marvel US, Marvel UK (in modern pop culture terms) is a Variant timeline

 

Watching you guys trying to make sense of this is like watching Nintendo fans trying to figure out the Zelda timeline.

 

See G2 is a different universe because it has a 2 on it. That's how you know its one universe more.

 

It's like, how much more universe could this be? And the answer is none. None more universe.

 

Weeeeeell, they kinda line up if you squint until the Earthforce era, it definitely diverges there, sadly, due to the budget cutting by Marvel UK.
