Well can I say I was right?!

 

I'm torn on Arcee.

Yes, this 86 retool has a better alt mode, but the backpack as expected, is horrendous.

As much as I hate to say it, Earthrise Arcee will be staying on my shelf, simply because she looks better in bot mode without a car hanging off of her back.

Hopefully now Hasbro will decide that her G1 look is crap, and design a new look for her with cues from G1, and finally make an Arcee that looks good in both modes.

That being said, I'll probably still pick up 86 Arcee, if only to show support for out of left field remolds.

 

Hopefully now Hasbro will decide that Arcee needs a Voyager parts count and do a new mold some time in the future.

 

Oh god please no. She's has enough updates for the past 10 years. The new one they are releasing is good enough transforms properly, possibly has waist articulation and ankle tilts and finnaly removes that ugly lower body that looks too human.

 

People forget that the problem with Earthrise Arcee was not only the poor transformation and backpack but also the completely bad execution of... pretty much everything. One of the most unexplicable mistakes was to make the car mode as bland as possible without any sense of style so at the very least SS86 Arcee is an improvement in that regard (and she also has 5MM ports which Earthrise for some idiotic reason skipped).

 

Er was a bad transformer toy but a really fun action figure if only they actually made useful or nice looking weapons.

 

Looking at them side by side there's more changed than I thought. The abdomen area looks a lot better and looks like it might have waist rotation? I'm warming up to the more cartoon-accurate car mode too. I think I'll be really tempted to replace my Legends figure with this. I did do some light customization on it so it'd be a little annoying to have to redo that, but it wasn't anything too complicated and there are some things I might do differently this time around...

 

Now for them to reconsider Kingdom Ultra Magnus instead of committing to it with Shattered Glass.

 

Hmm, gonna wait on some official pics before I decide to go with either this or BB Arcee as my G1 pink Arcee rep.

 

And then they just release a remolded CW Ultra Magnus

 

Would anyone else kill for a legacy drift figure?

 

Kill? Probably not   but I'd definitely be all in for a new Drift figure provided it wasn't based on the movie or Rid15 versions.

 

Im hoping i can mix and match lg/t30 arcee and ss86
She needs the ankle tilt mainly
Waist articulation would be nice but if that means more backpack then its a sacrifice

 

Nah, I'll only kill for a Legacy Windblade/Slipstream....

For Drift I'll only maim a person or two.

 

I really think they'll make a figure for him since the idw design is really cool and legacy is the best line to bring back an old untouched character design.

 

We are seriously overdue for wfc/legacy style versions of Drift and Windblade.

 

Packrat was actually rumored, right? I put aside a slot for him in the year's budget but Fenrys kind of casted doubt on it in another thread.
