Been collecting Transformers for over 22 years and after going through so many of the older lines purging off collections feels like my main focus have been for a few of the main characters I like -not get every single character out there- sticking to the main Autobots and Decepticons and the Maximals and Predacons and sticking to G1 Characters mainly so while nostalgia would draw me back to wanting RID/Unicron Trilogy feels like the only RID Figures I need in this collection are the ones that are here Fire Convoy,Scourge, and Ultra Magnus and after having big figures like Fortress Maximus and Metroplex and Armada Unicron and Primus feels like honestly I've gone through all the phases that a Transformers collector would go through.

At this point 3rd Party is managing to keep me interested and those just have to wait till they go on sale or get in stock and the Movie Masterpiece figures are tempting but just is hard to acquire more after going through many phases with the Transformers collecting Hobby over the past 2 decades.

Well, from the looks of this Thread, it seems like you are not the only one with this problem.

Personally for me, I have a mental checklist of characters that I wish to collect; it is basically everybody from the 1984 to 1987 Toy Catalogs that appeared on the Cartoon, and all Beast Wars Season 1 Characters, and once I am done, then I am done for good.

I am actually more than happy that there is nothing much to collect now as I can have more time to focus on other toy lines, my Anime, and Video Game backlogs.

There really is more to Life than just Transformers. Like as of last week, Ash Ketchum is finally a Pokemon Master after 25 Years!!!

I think I'm at this point now, pretty much have gotten all the characters I've wanted and happy with their iterations. Now I'm a bit selective of transformers I go after. Been branching my TF budget into other toylines like MOTU or GI Joe but even those are slowly reaching the point of saturation for me. Just pretty content with my collection and every so often I'll just gaze at my displays and be in awe in how far it's come after starting at the tail end of Power of the Primes. My inner child is more than happy with what I have and provides much needed respite from the madness of reality.

What's funny is that I just saw the just announced "wreckers" 2 pack with more repaints, and I think it's funny that it's another Impactor with a new head, when I recently managed to get the fan-pack with the spartan helmet that I find much much better than the Siege version, but didn't think I'd ever get. So I did managed to get it and went and got the kit to fix it up for all the freaking insane giant gaps he's got (and the new cannon is also much better I have to say) and I have my "definitive" version of this guy that I never really cared much for but he's a neat figure/tank and I like him regardless.

That said.. it yet another rehash that's selling at the new and improved high prices, and the new head seems like an attempt to mix both heads it seems and they managed to make it worse that the Siege one.

Oh wait.. they changed the chest a bit... but still massive gaps...oy.

It kinda proves what this is all about...

There will always be figures to look for, but all depends on how often, I think a lot of us spent a lot of time and money with the prime wars trilogy and wfc trilogy to update most characters.

For myself I'm happy with how current collection is shaping out to be, I really want the rest of the leader dinobots snarl, and swoop, sludge will be purchased soon as I see him out. Generations selects tentakill and overbite, which is the ones I currently looking for,

Upcoming figures rest of the legacy and studio series 86 line this year

Eventually if they do an updated brawn, gears, windcharger, cosmos, outback, tailgate, powerglide, beachcomber, seaspray for the minibots to scale with wfc minibots. Shrapnel, bombshell when they finally release them to join kickback, since we getting Minerva, a goshooter cab, horribull, squeezeplay would be awesome. And updated bludgeon, drift, lockdown, needlenose would pretty much do it for me, unless I would see a niche character I want here and there, like a new liokaiser and dezarus

Yeah, feels like all the figures I want are either upcoming, or if they are available, either characters I don't need at the moment or at extremely high prices (Misfire and Twin Twist say hello).

I'm all caught up with what I want right now and I'm just waiting for wave 2 of Legacy deluxes to drop. So I'm looking forward to taking a break until July when those figures should be released. There's nothing wrong with taking a little break for a while, don't feel like you have to keep buying toys, especially if you have everything you want right now.

Doesn't sound like a problem to me. Sounds like the thing to aim for (and eventually not having anything left to buy), because for me this is about having and enjoying the toys, not tracking them down and buying them (which is frankly an annoyance more than anything else).

Just is a very nice feeling not to be bogged down with a ton of figures to find or want or have a ton of pre-orders to drain my $$$ away in fact have no pre-orders at all this year and will wait for one or two new figures i'm after later this year.

It's very nice not to have to spend a lot of money on this hobby at this point.

Yes but it's less of a problem and more a state of being. I've literally combed through all TF toylines in TFWiki to find out what I want and what I don't want. I'm well beyond A, B and C list at this point and I'm just picking up some D and E listers if I find them cheap or feel like giving them a chance. Even then if I were to sum up all the figures I have and that I theoretically wouldn't mind owning, I would struggle to go beyond 150-200 figures in total from the entire history of Transformers. There is just so much I don't want.

For many, the hunt can be the most exciting thing about collecting. Once there's nothing left to hunt you have to change the way you approach this hobby.
