The original Optimal Optimus is still the best Optimal Optimus.

I still remain in the camp of sticking with United Tracks instead of Kingdom Tracks

CW Liokaiser was honestly embarrassing, the G1 toy is infinitely more impressive.

TR Fort Max as well, just doesn't stand up to how much the G1 toy did.

I'd say T30/LG Gel Shark is infinitely better than the original mold, I hate that thing so much.
Having had both of molds I much prefer the 1/55, its just so much more fun to transform. Siege is pretty ok but I found him really boring, and that helmet without the ears just looks wrong.

The nice thing about all the random repaints we get now is that I can not bother buying the new tracks mold, but I can experience it with the road rage repaint. A lot of the joy I get from transformers is in the fun of a new puzzle that each toy is. Even if you choose not to replace, then you still get to enjoy the newness .

I opted out of the new Datsuns trio because i had the classics ones as well, but also because i had the MP toys which are really short for Mps and if they are placed in with other classics toys there size isnt noticable at all

So this Thread hits hard at my issue for legacy, Dragstrip and Dragstrip lol, one is the CW mold which has the issues all CW molds have, the other back is dull and he litrally has a hole in the head, this hole in the head crap is gonna piss me off real quick, complete headsculpts please, anything less and im not even going to look at you unless your super obscure or waiting forever for a toy (pointblank, sureshot)

So this is where i have trouble, Trilling 30s Skids has his issues but that mold is so good compared to the new one, actually i think legacy is going to have a hard time beating anyone from that era, even the recent trailbreak couldnt beat the trailcutter was it back then, well yeah it wasnt even close trilling 30s had it beat by a landslide the earthrise arms where not okay at all nore was how the center was done.

    To answer the thread question.

CHUG's biggest fans complaints were vehicles modes robots toys. That didn't match the Eighties characters designs.

Hasbro responded by giving fans better update toys in CW, TR, POTP, WFC and Legacy.

Odd how some like the Legacy Prime toys as those toys. Don't mach the original toy designs.

I like to think of this as one of my "odd" takes, really. Other primes are fine primes that do what most seem to want a prime to do, and that deluxe prime just happens to do what I want a prime to do.

Universe/Henkei Hound is still one of my favorite deluxes.

I am all for having multiple versions of characters in my collection. I still appreciate classic/universe/generations. Larger figures, better builds, and I am not opposed to re-imagined versions of G1 that still have the character of G1 at heart. Never hated universe Ironhide/Ratchet as much as most people, and find the new versions just as sloppy, if not more.

The ones I didn’t care for were the shoehorned CW figures (mainly autobot cars). Gimmick got in the way and many just didn’t fit the characters.

My mistake. I don't have that figure and just assumed it would be "Skyfire". So much for being cute.

LOL...no worries. Jetfire's history is a long and complicated one. I have both and personally call the Siege figure "Skyfire". I really love cartoon accuracy, so for me, the Siege figure outshines the G1 version.

What I've found most interesting about Legacy is that the figures have fun, easy transformations, are highly articulated, show accurate, and feel like direct upgrades to G1 figures. For me, Legacy is looking like it will be icing on the cake to a 1,500 figure multi-line collection.

In truck mode, no modern version beats G1 Optimus Prime and Ultra Magnus.

I much prefer the Siege Seeker mold over the Earthrise mold. The ER mold is too small in jet mode. The Siege gets some licence because it's a fictional, alien jet.

MP Inferno and Grapple over the Kingdom versions which are too small.

Botcon Dreadwind over POTP Dreadwind, the latter is too small.

Classics Cyclonus over Kingdom. That facesculpt is just ugly.

Takara Legends Blurr over SS86. Another ugly face.

Thinking on this further, I don’t think I'll be replacing generations deluxe cybertronian soundwave anytime soon. The recent soundwaves are okay, and the prime one is pretty cool, but that videogame deluxe is (figuratively) dynamite.

I was already successfully rebuked for that comment. No need to rub it in.
