Something I've been wondering about for a while now, does anybody have any oversized knockoff figures, or OSKO figures, experiences that they'd like to share, good bad or otherwise? To clarify, an OSKO may not necessarily be JUST a bigger version of the original figure, but may also include some improvements. To date, I've only had two experiences with OSKOs, thankfully both of them have been for the better. My first OSKO was the Machineboy OSKO of CW Powerglide, who I didn't get due to bring dissatisfied with the Legends size. The OSKO is roughly Scout-sized, which feels fitting for Powerglide, and includes two long pistols the original did not have. It's not without issues, the plastic quality isn't great, the weapons aren't 5mm pegs and obviously it can't really be used as a weapon like the original, but it's still a great Powerglide to have. My second OSKO was KBB's Hornet, a Legends-scale OSKO of Newage's 3rd party Bumblebee "Flipper". I love this figure. The plastic quality is great and he scales perfectly in a CHUG collection, especially alongside the WFC Cliffjumper mold. He's got some enhancements over the original too, such as functioning wheels and wrist swivels. Highly recommended for a G1 Bumblebee. Another OSKO I was considering but didn't go in on was an OSKO I saw of Generations Drift I saw at TF-Direct. I couldn't find any reviews on it and didn't feel comfortable buying it without knowing what I was getting, but it sure looked nice in photos.
I got 3 OSKOs but for some of the G1 MP Figures(Prime, BB, and Sideswipe) and I like them, but I’ve always wanted some of the movie bots like Brawl, Bonecrusher, Blackout and ROTF Megatron
There should be more OSKOs. The lack of recent mainline and recent Studio Series OSKOs has saddened me greatly. I’d have given several organs for an OSKO Skytread/Flywheels and SS Blitzwing.
I got the OSKO of MP-10 with the battle damage look, he's MP-1 sized. Plastic feels a little more....less quality? It's hard to describe. It's never broken or had an issue. It just feels funny. Regardless, great figure! (Not my picture but I'm at work so yeah, it's all I could find).
I remember OSKOs seemed somewhat frequent during Siege, but then none appeared during Earthrise or since then.
Oh yeah!! Forgot about them - a Hot Shot repaint of Hound turned up recently too. Even more annoying then as Flywheels was in the same wave. Argh.
I wish all figures were OS...this is my preferred size. It might be due to my blue collar thing...tiny figures vs $. I would rather pay $50 for an 8" figure vs $20 for a 4" figure...etc. In this vein, I would rather pay $100 for a 12" figure vs $75 for a 9" figure...etc. AND maybe in MAY, talking to 3zero, I would rather pay $600 vs $3k...3z vs Yolopark.
I had the osko of studio series prime from bumblebee movie and it was pretty nice. Definitely looked and felt decent quality. The only problem I had with it was the shoulder pieces - they're supposed to spin around on these screw posts but they snapped off super easily. Also those panels were where you wanted the faction logos but they were upside down in alt mode, which was unfortunate.
@Snaku the way you describe it, was the BMB version? But that was heavily modified enough to be its own thing right?
always impressed me how some old KOs are "impossible" to get, even if you have the money, for example OSKO Arcee movie 1, I think that is easier to find an MMC Strika before finding that Arcee lol, or the Legends class devastator KO set with the 6 constructions in one package, or the Fast action battlers ROTF figures in voyager-style packages, with "Transformers" and everything, old KOs are truly gems
I have an OS of Siege Nemesis that was $20 and it's a great figure, an OS Classics Prime which is well made, and I got an OS MP-10 Nemesis in the mail today and again, a wonderful figure. I also have the OS Jin Bao Gravity Builder which I absolutely love. I know I'm forgetting something, but the ones I have are stellar.
I've bought lots of oversized KOs. They've all been decent with the exception of the super cheapos way in the past. Talking the O/S tfc and Fansproject stuff. My favorites are JJ jet commander and Jinbao GT Devy. JJ because It's a joy to play with, and Devy because I love the aesthetic GT brought.
I do want to see more OSKOs of mainline Generations/SS figures. But I'm tired of seeing overdone OSKOs. Like, I want to see deluxe figures at 5.5-5.75 inches, and voyagers closer to 6.5 or 7". Even some of the legends figures, I'd like to see at those height for the respective carbot and voyager-ish Cons. They've done things like take deluxes and made them masterpiece height, and I wish it was more manageable. But first, I'd just like to see more, period. As for ones I have, I LOVE my OSKO AOE V2 Hound. OSKO MPM-11 Starscream is a great figure as well ('07 paint scheme is best paint scheme). And while his jet mode is so-so, I also have the OSKO CW Powerglide, and he fits nicely with my collection. I definitely have others, but they haven't stood out or have become quickly dated.
Almost forgot this guy. Big Cannon from O&P. I'd love to see some current designs blown up to MP scale! Cyclonus, Scouge, and Hot Rod for starters.
