Ya know, for how much i fucked up whatever it was I was trying to do to Starscream when inking him up, I'd infinitely prefer it to the plain grey default.

I wouldn't say you fucked up, I think you did a great job. While maybe a little overdone it still looks great and parts of it especially give off this battle wear and scratches to it.

I sort of just winged it and slightly made it brownish like some of the early movie toys. And then mixed black and silver ink strokes.

 

I meeeeean I guess you could call that stealth starscream or something. He looks like he took an oil bath.

 

I'd take oil bath Scream over plain grey Scream.

 

I wouldn't, but hey it's your figure. I'm still sad that my official broke, cause I really liked how the ink wash turned out on it.

Okay, so some sports retailer in the UK is selling him for £45. I'm pretty certain I know what the answer is going to be, but what's he like and is he worth it?

 

The best transformable Starscream on the market and worth every penny if you're a BayScream fan.
Has pretty good posability and feels solid, except for the parts that need to tab into his chest. The ratchet joints in the arms are likely to pop it out of place, but it's no biggie. And the transformation is fun, imo. Jet cleans up pretty okay when you consider what the robot mode looks like. But to be fair, most G1 Starscreams cant get a clean underjet either, so. Lol

And you may want to get the DNA Designs upgrade kit because for SOME REASON they designed the figure without a proper bicep swivel.

 

Yeah he fell off a very tall shelf I have. I knocked it by accident while doing something else. It's a really sturdy figure but an 8ft drop will do almost anything in that's made of plastic

Unfortunate. But at least the Tattoo KO is awesome. Though I don't find myself messing around with it as much as the official.

Despite SS Starscream looking amazing, he lacks ankle tilts and could never pull this off as well. Yeah this pose is incredibly “plain”, but just feels good when a guy that looks like that can stand well.

That’s the problem with the addiction, you’re never satisfied. And when you want more you CAN’T have more.  

 

Arrived today. For 64 bucks can't really complain, but it is a shame that he took the chug quality route, and not the classic MP one.

 

Just curious, why do you feel this is chug quality? (I feel it is one of the better quality figures in the MPM line, and much better than a chug figure by most measures)

 

Plastic, rubber, paint and joints a bit loose. The engineering is as always on top quality of course, i was talking about materials and feeling. But you're right, it's one of the best mpm (i'm missing Ratchet and BB OP).
