"The 2001 Robots in Disguise series (featuring vehicular Autobots vs. bestial Predacons) set on modern-day Earth is not considered a Beast Era series, though it may have been conceived as a logical inversion of Beast Wars II." - TFWiki.

RID came out after the Beast Era came to an end in the West, and because TFWiki isn't based in Japan but in the West, they don't count Car Robots.

So beast machines take on Cybertron not on the jungle as it’s beast vs vehicle same goes for 2 and it’s Japanese I don’t see the difference and you didn’t notice Fire convoy’s maximal symbol on his early art.

Cause Beast Machines aside from having "Beast" in the name is a direct sequel to BW, while RID was the first ever TF reboot in the West and it took a few years for Takara to clarify that RID was meant to be part of G1/Beast Wars, since aside from 1 or 2 lines the show doesn't ever state it is.
Yeah, early art. Art that never made it's way into the Japanese show or any part of it's Western counterpart. It's like how there isn't a Bayverse Optimus Primal just because there was Primal concept art for TLK.

Is there a list of similarities and differences between each of the KBB combiner wars figures and their official counterparts?

Early concept art doesn’t account for much compaired the finished published work

I have to confess, in a sci-fi universe that has sentient transforming robots, I still get hung up on the size change/mass displacement thing. They never addressed it (at least in the '80s cartoons/comics), and it always bothered me.

Of the Titans Return toys, are there any for which the head can remain attached for transformation? If so, which ones?

From what I remember, I think only Power Master Optimus Prime/Ginrai (because they're Headmasters go in helmets) and Astrotrain, but only into shuttle/starship mode.

Pretty much all the leader class figures, Broadside can with some modifications to the rear of his cockpit, technically you could leave the head on the Astrotrain mold in space cruiser mode, but it would look really dumb, and you can leave Full-tilt's noggin in the rear of Trypticon's head in all 3 modes.

Thanks y’all. Seems like a dumb question (which is why I posted it here) but I like neither the head masters gimmick nor partsforming in my toys, yet there are otherwise some really cool TR figures out there. I only own one (Blurr). If I could slim down the heads a bit and secure them in place, I’d probably purchase a few more.

Which birth year would’ve had the least childhood exposure to Transformers? In the USA there was a drought in new televised content between 1988 (“Season 5” remixes of G1 with the live action intros) and 1996 (Beast Wars), with no stateside representation at all in 1991-3 aside from unsold G1 toys. This would imply that 1987-89 children would’ve had minimal exposure as they were still in diapers when G1 ended but were well into school by the time of BW.

I think your range should be a few years earlier, so babies and toddlers too young for complex toys during G1. 1987-89 kids would be at prime action figure age for Beast Wars.
It's possible some in this age range could have received second hand Transformers during the hiatus, but they would probably be more familiar with Power Rangers.

Perhaps, although Power Rangers was around the same time as Beast Wars or a bit before. Oddly enough I remember Rugrats, Clarissa Explains it All, Doug, and Gullah Gullah Island (which were mostly early 1990s) instead of Beast Wars (although I do remember Gen 1 Pokémon obviously)

So like, would the 'jaws of life' be able to crack open The Matrix?
