I wasn't a kid in 1984 but I remember being extremely frustrated with stickers in the 70s with my Star Trek models so I didn't enjoy it then or now.

I would have been happy if my dad had done it for me, then I wouldn't have had to listen to him complain that I did it wrong.

This is exactly how I feel. My near-vision eyesight started going when I hit 40 and I was never ever good at it. Now that I'm 57 and both 40 and 50 have hit me back? Takara please have mercy, consider how many of the people who want these extremely premium nostalgic figures are old as fuck now!

 

Are there any good upgrade kits for this version yet? I see people with alternate faces but I can’t find them anywhere.

Apparently. I forgot I signed up for these but never checked back. Now he’s not making them anymore for the foreseeable future.

 

I pulled the trigger on this guy and I'm glad I did. He's the size of a tall Voyager but he's DENSE as hell. I went with this version because in my probably unpopular opinion, regular Galvatron is too damn purple, and too light a shade for my tastes. So yeah, no regrets!

hey everyone, this might be an odd request, but is anyone willing to sell the sticker sheet? i can’t find mine and i’m thinking i threw it away on accident. i really wanted to use the Unicron head sticker for something, so if anyone is willing to part with it, let me know.

 

I gave mine the pink cannon of the Reformatted Galvatron and now this guy is perfect. Absolutely adore him.

While I don’t feel the need to get any upgrade sets now, I might consider the Toyhax decal set (wasn’t a fan of stock set). And hopefully the Radicon dude who did those cool new faces will produce another batch somewhere down the line.

It's funny, we didn't like the toy in the 80s because of the cor scheme and now we love this version because the color scheme is based in the 80s toy!

Galvatron was my guy when I was a little tacker. I took him everywhere with me!

I loved his warm grey and deep violet colours and his glittery particle cannon. And I never once asked him why he wasn't all purple.

I wanted to know what went wrong with the cartoon that he didn't look like this:

Who is “we”? Sure, I questioned the colors compared to the cartoon, but I liked my gray one better. And then when he showed up in the comics like that? Yeah… too bad the new toy didn’t have a hidden pistol mode.

 

I liked the toy in the 80s... it had the typical aesthetic for the time and made really fun and irritating noises!

Omg i should throw a battery in it and see what my cats think of it...

 

Yeah, count me in as someone who was never a fan of the unfinished toy colors (the toy was based on an unfinished model sheet)... but I still bought this guy. Purple Kingdom Galvatron is my main Galvatron; while this guy is a background scheming threat to the timestream AU Galvatron II.

 

Update: cats aren't into the sounds, but after sniffing the toy they just ignore it. Also, holy crap is it LOUD when a fresh battery is in it!

 

One question: why did they feel the need to include a separate gun when it comes with a cannon half as tall as the figure??? They sure gave you your money's worth back in the day... now they increase the price and cut features / accessories...
