Honestly shocked it didn't happen within the first page or that it isn't more frequent (so far).

Like Hasbro didn't say G1 doesn't sell or it's selling the worse at all, but then they get defensive and deny reality and go "Nope G1's the only thing that's selling well and that's why BW totally failed at the start of Kingdom please believe me."

 

I kind of feel like Titans shouldn't be constrained by a set price. They should be like Masterpieces, where they cost what they cost.
But retailers wouldn't like that.

On the Transmetals: maybe I'm in the minority of Beast Wars fans here, but I'm honestly not fussed about vac metal. Give me a good-looking modern version of TM Tarantulas with an actually good alt-mode (it won't, it'll be a show accurate Tracks-tier third mode but a guy can dream) and I dunno, use silver paint or something.

 

Going forward, it feels like it's a matter of G1 and, not G1 or, or G1 only. G1 and Beast Wars. G1 and UT. After nearly a decade of G1 only, it's time for the and, and Kingdom showed it could work, and that there was a strong appetite within the fandom for it.

I mean, just look at the Legacy Metroplex reveal thread. There are 5-6 pages of comments just about Inferno, and it's just a picture, not the actual figure.

 

I’m curious how they can make those claims considering they only have PO order numbers and not sales of individual characters. PO only tell how many cases of deluxe or voyagers are ordered, not info like Arcee is outselling Dragstrip or kickback. Plus Legacy has just hit retailer so even retailers don’t have that data. I also find it interesting that on Pulse, Dragstrip, Kickback and Skids pre-orders are sold out yet Prime Universe Arcee is still in stock.

 

I couldn't agree more - Armada is in more dire need of modern updates than nearly every other line. Cybertron is when the UT really hit its peak - it's the start of that trilogy that had the most hampered figures!

 

It's not rocket science. Hasbro offered Walmart options for exclusives and they chose ones that included Soundwave. Nothing more to it. It's not like Target where they have certain qualities they're looking for with exclusives.

 

I dunno, I own some truly awful Cybertron and Energon toys.

Ya know, this occurs to me:
We get G1 hybrids like Bulkhead and Arcee in this line, and in the next line we get some actual PRIME Arcee and Bulkhead.

 

Doesn't seem like it since those in the roundtable agreed that vac metal is not the way to go and I agree.

Yes, this! Armada was a terrible toyline that got high praise for 2 awesome saving graces: Deluxe (bendy) Prime and the 18-year awaited Unicron.

Just hope that George Costanza doesn't say in his New Yoke accent, "We need to twook."

 

Huh? What qualities does target look for

 

They tend to go for red characters in recent years. T-Wrecks, Road Rage, Thrust, and (kinda) Runabout. It's a very recent thing but a trend nonetheless.

 

They chose to give it to Walmart. If there was no other way to do tape player Soundwave because of your corporate overlords just say so.

But I am sad that the "some menasor details" was sculpted blasters on his arms.
That's not details, that A detail.

Yeah, I would much rather have 5mm ports than sculpted guns, myself.
I've got enough spare guns, being able to utilize them like that would be perfectly acceptable to me.
