The bot mode was never really the selling point for that toy. That's why it was branded as "The Ark" and not "The Last Autobot".

You're entitled to your opinion but that doesn't make it the majority. And for what it's worth, I think the Ark was the second riskiest titan right after this one here.

Nobody has to buy this figure if they don't want it. If it doesn't sell well it's not going to kill UT any more or less than whatever sales of past references lead to this moment. The UT has the benefit of being a bunch of name value characters in new bodies...so there'll come a day when they get updated be it now or down the road similar to how it took a few decades for Kingdom to cement anything close to a BW revival.

Indeed. Especially like how he cannibalized Cyclonus shoulders.

The question was having a more complex transformation. Why make it more complex when the end result is an almost identical look of a robot laying on his back with a saw resting on his gut? I, too, feel like this was a bit of a wasted opportunity to get closer to the intended alt mode than what they ended up with. Although it's interesting the Legacy version pitches the cockpit and opts for a suicide seat on top of the saw instead...

Looks very cool. Outside of the gimmick features it seems like a straight up upgrade of the original in every way. But... does it feel like it needs more detail to anyone else? He seems a bit too clean for something so big. THIS is the kind of toy Hasbro should add greebles to, not small deluxe Autobots.

I think Scorponok's beast mode, Trypticon's ship mode, and Omega's base mode are all on that level or better. That's not to say I dislike this Metroplex's alt, but it isn't exactly a mystery to how he transforms.

Everybody who bought Tryps did it because he's a giant robot dinosaur.

This looks really cool. I really don't know much about this incarnation of the character, but I do distinctly remember seeing the original toy in Toys R Us back in 2006 when I first got into Transformers. I remember thinking it was a neat design. If I had the money and space, I'd probably buy this just because of that nostalgia factor, and just because it's something a bit different than usual.

A live action battle between Metroplex, Bagger 288 and Tidal Wave, an aircraft carrier would be dope.

Glad to see the Unicron Trilogy getting some love, but 200 dollars? That\'s just too much for me. I\'m going to wait until this guy goes on sale, that and I\'m running out of space for titans

Folded up dinosaur vs folded up man. At least neither of them are just sitting on the floor with their legs open.

He's basically the leader of a tribe of giant transformers, on the Colony planet Gigantion, he curb stomped Megatron the first time they met. Megatron was so salty he willed himself into Galvatron to get back his win.

It definitely looks like the most articulated Titan we have gotten which is really nice and I like that they changed up the work and alt modes so there is more of a transformation (still don't see how it is 52 steps but we'll see). Just something about this isn't clicking with me. There is nothing I don't like about it but for some reason it is just not screaming "BUY THIS" to me like most of the Legacy figures or even the WfC figures. Maybe I just need more time or see a review of it in motion but for right now unless I can get a big discount I think I have to pass for now.

so this is the most complex non-combiner titan we\'ve ever gotten, the ark was 21 steps, Scorponok was 33 steps, omega was 37 steps, with both transformations combined Trypticon was 27 steps, fort max was 15 steps, and fall of Cybertron metroplex I can\'t find a solid step count on but since fort max is a retool of him, I would say probably 15-20 steps, legacy metroplex has 52, of course the combiners outdo him (put together predaking has 63 steps and devastator has 68) but still, 52 steps is nothing to scoff at

I'm shocked, for as much wow factor as Bay goes for, he never used the biggest fucking land vehicle he could find for a transformer.
