Thats how I've always viewed this whole situation as well.

- it would obviously be nice to receive news about the combiners.

- it's frustrating to only get combiner news every few months. Last time we got news was 3 months ago or more... right?

- we aren't actually owed anything despite what some of you may think. We chose to buy into an incomplete 3P combiner while knowing the risks.

- we have no way to "demand" anything. We can "request" updates, but to demand something you must have something of worth to bargain with.

- Most of us will keep buying FT products regardless of combiner status.

I'm a little frustrated just like everyone else, but I'm fairly certain nothing can be done about the current state of things. Best to manage emotions and expectations for now, and hope for the best...

 

always makes me laugh the almost supreme treatment that FansToys NEEDS to have, meanwhile with WeiJiang people attacked them for even adding a desert backdrop with Blackout, demanding Ironhide since forever and attacking almost every single one of their releases (only M01 and Thunder leader are sacred I guess) people even demanded a giant WEIJIANG IS BACK AND BLACK APPLE announcement months after the raid when Thunder Leader reissue was announced, hell, they're still doing it right now
but with FansToys? nononono, not even ask for a word from them

Well just to be clear, I do not like FT as a company due to their practices. I do not like most of their products I've handled as while they look pretty, they are distinctly not fun. They are simply just one more company taking Hasbro's I{ and making transforming robots with them. I have zero loyalty to them or literally any company.

My issues is with whining, entitled people, regardless of the product.

I am about the opposite of a fanboy.

Except there literally is no schedule for things to come out on. They don't owe anyone anything. And it's absurd to expect, well, anything, of an ethically dubious company that is basically stealing other people's IP and has some well documented business practices. We're all gambling when it comes to combiners. But realistically, there's money on the table for the last two members of each team; they'll get released eventually.

Making threads like this isn't going to make FT do anything because they would have zero reason to care. Their products always sell out and the final two combiners limbs will be snapped up instantly. They can safely disregard any ill-conceived demands.

As for being confused, I was pretty clear with what I said.

 

Demand all you want, you have no leverage on them and it's not like they are binded by a contract or anything.

 

I think the whole "demand" thing is just for us fans to get hyped about asking for an update. Not really the verbiage you would use in any communication to the business, such as saying "I demand you give me an update!". The lack of civility in that approach would obviously not get great results.
However, the sentiment of adding pressure for an update is totally on point. We just want an update and would be making our voices heard because it communicates our current dissatisfaction/disappointment of being made to wait on a combiner for such an extended period of time.
It's far from the most important thing in the world, but it's still something we can show we are unhappy about as we have invested in their product which did promise the full team and combined mode. This is all very specific to these combiners because they really are a team, and either in combined mode or individually, they will continue to look wrong so long as members are missing.
As far as I can remember, I don't believe any combiner has had such a long delay on any limbs (tfc is getting there with their abominus, however we do get insights frequently enough to know hungarr is coming), so it isn't uncalled for to put pressure on FT for an update of some kind. At the bear minimum, is it not good for them to know fans are waiting to throw money at their next products? Nothing wrong with saying we really want them to give us news of when the product might drop.
I don't expect them to reply, but I hope they do, and nothing wrong with trying to get an update.
Really nothing for anyone to get bent out of shape on either, anyone who does I think is just looking for drama or to be the one who looks smarter for saying "entitlement, etc. etc." just to make strawmen arguments so they can look more mature or enlightened for not agreeing.

 

i don't buy into fanstoys stuff so i don't keep up with their business practices, but a lot of companies have release dates and schedules that they fail to deliver on too. if fanstoys doesn't make promised dates then yeah the issue's a lot less dubious, then it's just when it comes then it comes which i'd honestly prefer over "we said september but maybe in 3 years, april" like some companies (even pre-pandemic-related issues)

they have zero reason to care unless this affects sales of future products or mass cancellations due to delays, sure, but the last two combiner limbs being snapped up is kind of a false equivalency here, no? of course the 2/5ths of a combiner that led to this situation are going to be snapped up, they're clearly in demand (for lack of a better term)

i was confused on if you were really saying customers can't demand things from companies because their opinion doesn't carry weight, but i guess since you just said "i was clear" it cleared it up for me. very enlightening from someone with a signature calling people who sign forum posts "self-absorbed idiots" when they can't explain their own post lol

 

It would be nice to know what's going on with two sets of five toys that have been dragged out for three to four years now. I decided I wasn't going to finish either set after news broke that they were saddling the last member with extra costs because reasons. That's a mistake in my opinion.

I'd be more upset if it was the Combaticons, as they have so much more personality than the Stunticons and Aerialbots combined. On that front, I just went with MMC because I didn't want to wait for a 2025 announcement and a $500 Vortex with combiner parts in 2029. The Protectobots don't rate FT prices and MMC has already started so I'll go with theirs over some hypothetical 2029 version.

 

Man, I just wish someone would tackle Abominus/Computron already. And of course a proper Predaking.

I still have my TFM Menasor og version boxed in storage just in case fanstoys absolutely fails with dead end and the figure is trash. I got rid of my xtb coz I felt my dragstrip was trash and, well, combined mode was a scary thought from a company like xtb which actually did turn out to have tons of breakages in the combiner mode and pieces. I'm good with waiting on FT, just hope it doesn't take like another 3 years... end of this year would be ideal.
Anything longer and I might swap FT into storage and leave the TFM team on display, and if it takes even longer more so, eventually sell off FT coz there isn't any point in just keeping stuff in storage forever.

We are customers…With out us FANSTOYS doesn’t exist…They don’t owe us blood or anything, but they do owe us the respect as consumers and fans to be up front and transparent with us….I’ll bet you if just all the US buyers(not the whole world)stopped buying all at once, it would certainly get their attention…but people aren’t built like that anymore unfortunately…Everyone complains but no one is ready to sacrifice anything…Getting hit in the pockets is what FANSTOYS will understand…Who’s with me?

 

While you are correct on the points you made, I think (if I understand you correctly) the end solution of boycotting their products till they deliver on the remaining limbs is counterproductive to getting those limbs as, stripping their revenue streams away will obviously diminish their ability to produce any future products, let alone the ones we want. Now you can guess that they have enough in reserve to push out these limb bots, but your obviously risking a lot.
Too extreme. Also, no one would actually do it, or not enough anyway.
We just need more people asking for an update. No aggression, no negativity, just a frequent "hey, when are the limb bots coming, do you have an update?" And that's it. Then when no answer before the end of the week, ask again... rinse, repeat.
FT can choose to ignore that question all they want, that is their prerogative, but we can also ask, that is ours. No one is being hurt here, but simply keeping the question alive and visible to them.

 

Got a simple solution for anyone who's tired of waiting or is Demanding justice (Batman voice ) from FT. JUST SELL OFF YOUR SET ALREADY THEN!! If it bugs the F@#K out you that much there's no news and you're impatient,get rid of them. I'm sure you can make a pretty penny still and get Dx9 or XTB's Stunticons instead.

Personally for me,it does suck and I've contemplated selling my set here and there but I'm choosing to ride it out and I'd rather have them fix these so called issues than releasing a cluster F@#K combiner that won't hold together.

Finally for the folks who are mad about the wait,guess you weren't around for Rex or GP Dino's lol

 

I was around for feral rex. Hell I was around for FP Britucus's add on limbs and upgrades.
This feels much longer. Being mad is hyperbole, I'm sure no one is mad, they're just discussing that the wait is ridiculous given that it has been ages since the first release and the fact that FT is putting out lots of other figures before the limbs.
As you said, a lot of us are riding it out even though it does suck, as you stated. So the simple solution isn't so simple for everyone.
I'm all for them making the combiner solid, don't think anyone doesn't want that. We are just venting a bit and saying it sucks that on top of the wait, we have radio silence from FT on it.

All that said, I do think this thread is pretty meaningless, lol.

NEWS FLASH!! This is thread for the people who want to complain …And your pissed off that people are complaining! I’m invested four bots deep (Menasor)and 3 deep (Superion) and your telling me to go and sell my bots…I’ve got news for you. I have sold my bots…My Zeta Superion, my DX9 Menasor, and four off the Xtransbots Stunticons…All based on FANSTOYS promises..I like FANSTOYS, I think they are the best, but please don’t tell me or anyone else that has invested considerable money and TIME that they don’t have the right to be pissed…
