Who hurt you today?

 

Asking for hints is cheating, you'll have to read the post again fair and square.

 

While I've made this same argument before, in all honesty in terms of actual characters, it's probably more like 3 factions - Autobots, Maximals, Terrorcons. The Decepticons will likely be a cameo at best, and for the Predacons I'm expecting them to be like the AOE Dinobots, except villainous. I would be genuinely surprised if they're collectively in the film for longer than 8 minutes, and they all get to speak. I could be completely wrong, but this is the impression I get from what the production team has shared.

Although, even if you did narrow it down to three important factions, that doesn't bode well considering how much difficulty the previous films had in characterizing a mere two factions.

 

It’s not really that hard of a concept. From what we know, most of the Decepticons have not made it to Earth proper yet, so they aren’t in it at all outside of a cameo(and Nightbird). Scourge shows up with Battletrap, and Optimus and co intercept in New York. They learn Scourge is hunting the Maximals probably because they have McGuffin. So both teams race to Peru where the Autobots meets the Maximals. At first, they fight, with the Maximals refusing to side with the Autobots, but after a serious event I will not mention but was leaked on set, the Maximals realize they need to team up with the Autobots to stop Scourge and maybe a hidden Predacon.


It’s basically like the first Avengers, just with two teams.


Also, I wouldn’t be surprised if the Maximals had killed off all the Predacons long ago, but remained stranded. Seeing as how immensely popular the opening of Bumblebee was, I’d say we might see something like that in an opening flashback, but obviously Beast Wars.
