That feels acceptable for a full set. Not for me, unfortunately. Oh well.

    I’m so sorry.

Considering I just got a second set for 140 shipped and 3 of the 5 bots for a friend for another 140 I think that there are much better deals out there to be had especially when one is a time bomb BUT it's a set on a retail site like that is an effort-free get so that's a plus

if you can hook me up with an Axle, I’ll absolutely pay in advance plus a finders’ fee! While I mean that, I certainly don’t expect it - as you said, getting these guys individually is really hard. Aside from eBay and perhaps Mandarake, I don’t know where else to look.

Ideally, Maketoys comes back. Second to that, though, would be a group acquiring the molds or the data to make the molds and making their own release, but that would involve so much startup capital with little promise of making that money back and less so a profit that it just doesn’t make sense. I would never wish financial ruin on anyone just so I could complete a set of toys.

Ive been watching this thread all night, this kinda stuff has crept into my mind. I’ve ventured into the hypothetical.

Thanks for checking! I was considering buying the set with two rovers but now that I checked how much it would cost I don't think I can go through with it, at least based on current buy now prices. You'd have to be patient and keep an eye out for good deals on each individual piece.

I've got another community and bros that I'd have to make sure of are good on it and then talk myself out of stockpiling for spare parts. I'll send you the details of said group.

    ---------

Also my echo parts shipped quite a bit faster than the estimate said. I chose regular production and standard shipping and it all went out within a week.

You, sir, are a gentleman and a scholar.

...but I suppose we all know that already. :)

I remember owning this set. When I was collecting Transformers Prime figures, I placed Guardia on the shelf with them...fit perfectly to me. They were my representation of the Protectobots of the Prime universe...hated to get rid of it.

Alright sooooo got a new article and gallery up for the entire set. Link will be in my sig (if on mobile, view landscape mode to show signatures.)

Article breaks it down but gave the set as a whole 8.5/10. Honestly IMO it's an Axle away from a perfect 10 and it really sucks because it's some of Maketoys' absolute best work and a real culmination of improvements on both combiners and figures in general the company had made to that point.

Here are some pics from the gallery portion:

I get this urge to pull Guardia out of the cabinet every so often to play with the set, but goddamned Axle stops me every time. He's survived a ton of transformations, which makes me feel like I'm lucky, somehow. But knowing of his reputation for being fragile now, I'm scared to chance it.

He is whole again! Many, many, MANY thanks to @echotransformer for the designs. (And thanks to @Kuma Style for bringing so much attention back to such a star of a team!)

The replacement parts came today, and it was a cinch getting them in position. A pair of sprue cutters did the job for the kickstand, and I didn't even need to sand it! It fit much more easily than the original (while still being snug). The legs attached more smoothly than I expected; the screws went in with just a bit of force. And while popping his two halves back together was a little scary, I really didn't have anything to worry about; the plastic seems high quality.

I haven't transformed*/combined him yet, but I can at least confirm that the white piece that hooks up to his spine for combined mode fits nicely into the new slot. Oh, and my flash exaggerates the colour differences; it really does blend well together under normal lighting (though, I may soon experiment with painting the other kickstand, and switching them if that works).

*I'll probably still avoid this for now, since I don't want another broken foot. :-/

Just a small update: I used a silver Pentel paint marker on one of the two printed/replacement kickstands I got. I think the result was pretty good! If you wanted to, a bit of sanding could smooth the surface and improve the appearance. I'm also going to try applying some top coat, since hard scratches -- or even a firm grip -- will rub some of that paint off.

This is definitely a viable option!

Mine survived multiple transformations over the years, with no special handling. Even survived 2 moves, with no issues. He's absolutely my favorite Generations scaled combiner, so he got lots of handling time. Hadn't disassembled him in about a year, and when I finally did a few months ago, Axle just started falling apart.

Mine had the "improved" replacement parts installed, even though I never had a issue with thr originals, so I dug them out. And sure enough, they suddenly crumbled as well.

Got my Echo Transformer Replacement Waist and Kickstand in. Review video up tomorrow along with general fixes and maintenance for Axle.

Perfect fit and no modifications needed. @echotransformer PLEASE consider making the leg struts for this piece. I honestly think they'd look even better in black plastic than silver.

Need some help with configuration; this is a pic someone posted of the Guardia ko but does anyone know to to configure the missiles over the shoulders like this in combined mode? I've seen pics of it done on the regular but nothing from the backside or an angle showing how it's done.
