Don’t get me wrong i’d much prefer they just sell their design on to another company say transart maybe or even someone new. But I wouldn’t pass up a stylised version. As long as it still looks like the character I’d happily have it on my “Cybertronian beasts” shelf

I honestly find the whole “we want to avoid copyright trouble” thing stupid considering everything they make is just a stylized version of Hasbro characters. You can stylize it all you want, you’re still banking on money from TF fans, not original mech fans. otherwise they wouldn’t be making TF character after TF character.

Ask them to sell the design to someone with the balls to make it as intended. That's essentially every 3P company except them at this point.

 

True that, thats whats annoying me about this company as every other third party company is making show accurate mp scaled g1 figures for years now but when we get one really good figure in Transmetal megs the company is shitting themselves to make another because they might get in trouble. Boo hoo, if you havent got the ball bearings then sell the original design to tranart or someone else because thats a ludicrous excuse. I was so excited when Jiangxing came out and said they were all for show accurate mp scaled beasts but this is just sad news. I dont want or need a stylized/downscaled version of tigerhawk.

If you were so worried about copyright infringement, you should of never been making any transformer figures in name or design that hasbro owns. It sounds like a lame a ss excuse to me and more like a huge cop out. Good luck guys. I’m selling a v2 winged dragon if anyone is interested.

Why sell it? We'll never see a better one. No way Transart is able to compete with that.

 

I'm surprised that they're worried about infringing on this particular character/design since it appeared in all of 3 episodes and can't be worth very much to Hasbro. That said, I thoroughly enjoy cold-metailbeast and I look forward to whatever they release next regardless if it's based on existing IP or not.

 

Weird that they supposedly said "show accurate" when there's quite a few parts on Megatron that aren't even close.

I am about to head off to bed but 4 that stick out to me are: Wings are wrong; wing "claws" (basically where the wings are all jointed into) are not the right shape at all. They look more like the toy IIRC; Dragon head teeth differ quite a bit as well as some parts of the head itself; finger joints aren't painted black like the show's balljoints.

I'm positive there are more.

Keep in mind I own the matte Red version, which I only saw advertised being "matte" and not "basically the Cryotek build (pieces added to dragon neck and tail segments) but with Megatron faces and the original colors" and this version offers a slew of other differences that I did not know about when I ordered. Still glad to have him by any means, but yeah...

 

Hm…. As far as I can see the few things that are off matter so little I didn’t notice them at all.
