I was going to stop there after work to look for Silverstreak. Saved a trip. Bulkhead is on preorder.
Man, if I wasn't permanent work from home I'd so be taking a break from work to run across the road to Target right now, heh.
Trueman Blvd is just a couple of miles away which isn't bad, but Polaris was way closer to the office than this is to home
Centerville Target has absolutely nothing new in the TF section. It's a sea of Origins Bees, Sweeps, and Wreckgars. I thought I'd check their Neca Haulathon section too but I looked all over and couldn't see where it was set up. I know they had it at one point because I saw a lone Gremlins Gizmo with the signature on a random end cap with a bunch of random clearance junk. The hang tag was ripped so I scanned it to see if it was marked down but nope, still $100 lol. Someone must've set it down in the wrong spot after they realized how much it was.
Man, I remember this summer how hard I tried finding a damn Wreckgar, literally months after he first started appearing until I finally got one (and it was my wife who found it, not even me!), and now he’s literally everywhere I go. It’s a reminder every time I go on the hunt that if I strike out that trip then the odds are whatever I’m hunting will be unavoidably in my face down the road.
WalMart in Forest Park at Smiley Ave. is closing next month. https://www.bizjournals.com/cincinn...art-to-close-greater-cincinnati-location.html
I'm just operating under the assumption that everything is still screwed up in terms of supply chain. I lucked out and found a UFO Bumblebee early on thanks to a kind Target team member near me before street date, and then - nothing for months. Now UFO Bee is everywhere. Similar story for Hot Wheels Thundertank. Nothing for months, and then at random I find one at Meijer after eyeing overpriced eBay scalpers. Big Bad Toystore is also getting restocks for previous MotU Origins lines. Did Mattel make more, or have they been on a pallet awaiting shipment or floating around on a container ship? Same story for the comic shop - they're unable to order BCW supplies for me due to distribution being a mess. I can create a direct account with BCW, but I'd rather not; and support a local business in the process. Very frustrating. Ignoring the woes of my middle-aged behind, I really feel bad for any parents trying to obtain presents for their kids (assuming kids these days play with toys and not just get all their kicks on Fortnite).
To this day, nearly forty years later, my dad still likes to remind me how hard it was to find the MOTU Beast Man figure I got for Christmas that year. It must have been traumatizing for him lol!
I still can remember how much trouble my parents had trying to find Megatron. (They never did.) Went to Pittsburgh, Erie, Buffalo, all points in-between, even Cleveland. (My aunt worked for a bus travel company, it was free.) Nada.
My mom tells the tale of once getting into a fist fight with a woman who stole a Ghostbusters proton pack toy out of her cart back in the 80's when she tried to get the last one in store for Christmas. Now there's so much ghostbusters stuff at Targets it feels like it never sells.
Stopped by Trueman Blvd Target this morning before work to run a couple of errands, nothing new or of note TF-wise.
