for what it’s worth, Core Soundwave is actually the best of the entire core line in my and many others’ opinions. Like he’s basically a downscaled MP figure without exaggeration.

I think a lot of that lenda itself to the relative ease of turning an articulated robot in to a brick. Having his casette player on his chest helps a lot too. There's no real alt mode parts you have to "hide" anywhere.

It's why Blaster is such a great figure, too.

Core Soundwave is the absolute winner of the entire size class. Don't pass on him if you're on the fence.

Mine arrived today. Nice robot mode. Transformation, is… okay. Fold out kibble makes his legs a bit chunky, but not a big issue. I couldn’t get the car to clip together properly, although that might have been a matter of alignment.

Proportionally speaking, when compared to the other core figures, I’d say he is more Rodimus Prime than Hot Rod, but he works either way.

A local comic shop in Richfield, MN has Hot Rod in stock. Doesn't look bad in person.

Not sure if this is considered a "sighting" (paging @Black Convoy) but they get their stock just like anyone else.

I think that is the first state-side sighting.

man a lot of people really don't understand "i like core class so i will buy lots of core class so Hasbro makes more core class" like its rocket science
who said anything about obligation? I like this thing, i want more of it, so i'm buying it? Every single target or Walmart i have ever walked into has been clean sold out of cores with the exception of the occasional Dracodon. While a MASSIVE PILE of ss86 figures lie in a literal pile of unwanted garbage. Wreck Gar, Sweep, Scourge, Kup. A bunch of literal old people characters from a cartoon no one remembers except grandpa in his last fit of Alzheimer's defiance.

    SWEET!
I also like your picture of him poking Unicron in the eye.

Honestly, seeing in-hand photos, he looks way better than he does in the render. He's still naked on paint, but that's an easy fix.

Yeah. Bit of extra paint and I think he will look passable. Haven't seen one in the wild yet myself

Also... Is his leg kibble removable?

Odd statement given that almost all the Cores so far come from and are styled after that cartoon that no one remembers, especially since those are some of the OLDEST characters in the entire franchise and lore.

Picked up Legacy Hot Rod only because of the sword. Worst Core Class figure by far. Even the combiner sword feature doesn't work like it's supposed to due the other bots' parts having issues.

This is after modding the other sword parts to work like they're supposed to. Also, the detachable spoiler as a "shield" is rather laughable at best. Used the oddly placed 3mm port under the forearm for the spoiler.
