This project is looking better than ever.

Could you share info about the printing service you are using for the nylon? I have some big stuff I'd like done .

Thank you. I am using Sculpteo. Very similar to shapeways. But I did order an Anycubic Vyper, and I plan on getting into the filament game. Just need to buckle down and figure it out. Use the resin for hands, faces, guns, etc.
The Nylon is such a good material.

Alt mode pics. ***I did cut off the bug mode fangs, thinking that they where sprues. I melted them back on, but one came back off and was lost forever!

    It is astounding stuff.

When I printed in it on shapeways, it came with a hammered iron kind of texture to it. Not smooth surfaces and crisp edges.

I take the service you used is a lot better?

I have no words to express how fantastic this looks.
Transforming or not. I think a transforming version would absolutely be fantastic and I would love to get a solid line of the TFP series.
    Seriously, bravo!
Can't wait for the final product

Wow! This is stunning! Look Hasbro, LOOK! It can be done, and done beautifully too.

When I get my 3D printer, I'd be really interested in buying a copy of the CAD files for the insect legs for my own (much less ambitious) "insecticon" custom.

I feel like the parts are a bit better now than before, almost like the powder is finer now so it sinters smoother or something. Doesn't seem as rough. Not as sharp corners as resin though.

Thank you! This one has been a long road for me.
The bug mode is HUUUGGGE! It feels like the first time you held a Giga dino. Like a mass in your hand!

The files will be available, I am currently cleaning the up and printing them on a filament printer in order to make adjustments for ease of printing.

I don't think that my parts are injection moldable, but maybe with APC getting into the design game a bit, a real designer could take a crack at er with at least a basic blue print to build off of.
Unfortunately it may be something that only 50 people think is a must have.

I will be painting it up soon, and I also want to make assembly videos and a transformation video. Right now I have to get better at 3d printing! hahaha

    IMG_20220314_073749836.jpg IMG_20220314_073754635.jpg IMG_20220314_073801833.jpg IMG_20220314_073827260.jpg IMG_20220314_073840564.jpg IMG_20220314_073853007.jpg IMG_20220314_073903646.jpg IMG_20220314_073956560.jpg IMG_20220314_074023743.jpg

AND... I have designed the ratchets away. They are a neat idea, and fun the first time, but then the novelty wears off. It's just more parts to print, while complicating the geometry of other parts in order to accommodate the ratchet. Friction joints seem to do the trick, plus I am designing them to be adjustable with the turn of a screw.
