The amount of work you've put in to this project is mind blowing to say the least. The imagination, the complexity of the re-engineering and mix/match of the new and old figures along with the fact that it all still transforms withouth unecessary parts-forming. AND there's still more to come? This is one of the most jaw-droping and inspiring heavy projects like this I've seen in a while. These may as well be MVMP's as far as I'm concerned. Seriously, hat else can be said? Thank you for sharing this and I'm really looking forward to seeing more.
Small update since I finally figured out how his legs will work, unfortunately the design will not be 100% accurate, however the function will be which I prioritize. pictured is his legs in his bipedal mode, hopefully with some vehicle kibble and added bits they will seem more congruent, and due to the amount of joints in each they have plenty of mobility. I’ll add more pictures when it nears completion. also removed his second arms as they are too large and too heavy to be accurate. outside of his second set of arms I think his silhouette is getting there. btw anybody know of any 3rd party figure that are more of shell formers? I’m trying to find good way to hide the shell of his dump bed. I know it’s not the biggest update of pictures but I was finally able to put some time into him. also here is a separate project that whoever can guess the character gets a cookie.
Definitely looking good. I'm sure it will look great once all the details are on and its painted. Too bad about the arms though, but its understandable of its not working.
well he will still have his second set, I just needed to find some replacements. he is slightly taller due to longer legs, a longer torso, and a change in shoulder angles Well here’s my update for the time being, I’d say 90% of his transformation is done, just need to add in the truck kibble and put some time into his combined mode. Otherwise it’s mainly cosmetic work for a while. you can see his truck mode and an edited photo for clarity. Obviously there will be a lot of panels and filling needing to be done, but most of it is worked out in my head. And here’s a picture of his underside so you can see where some of his bits end up. and here is overload so far, unfortunately he is quite back heavy, as the combiner waist joint is quite large still, so I will need to add in longer heels for him. Otherwise he is looking quite good. I think the spider legs in his 4 legged mode should work fine for that. I’ll show pictures of that once I can get those figured out. And lastly a couple other closeups. will need to do a lot of cleanup to remove any parts that still look like lego and improve connections, but otherwise I think he’s made a lot of progress and I believe a full finished devastator is actually possible again I had my doubts for a while. Added some pictures for reference on his vehicle mode and concept robot mode.
Hey gkrummy. I recently got slammer from the kingdom line today and a thought came to me. Is it possible to form nexus prime using all/most of the weaponizers. What’s your opinion on this though
Holy shit, man. This is absolutely phenomenal! I love how you even incorporated the back claw that appeared on the Legends figure/WIP concept art. What figures did you use for this? Off the top of my head, I can see SS Long Haul's wheels, 07 Bonecrusher's shoulders, RotF Mixmaster's chest and thighs, and Bumbebee's legs (not sure which figure). They are all incorporated so nicely to where it isn't noticable that they're from another figure, which will especially be the case when it's all painted. Again, phenomenal, dude!
Love your dedication and always look forward to seeing any and all progress - thanks for the details & keeping us posted!
Legos, ss66 overload, rotf voyager mixmaster, rotf voyager long haul, 2009 preview deluxe bumblebee, 2007 deluxe bonecrusher, and 2007 deluxe salvage
Update time! I’d say his transformation has been fully worked out, only need to shift his truck wheels down, maybe enlarge them, and create a larger truck can. mother than that and detail work I can finally move onto scrapper and figure out how he’s gonna work. once I finish the combining aspects I’ll finish up each bot and there vehicle modes. Lot of gaps to be filled, but compared to the original I’d say his vehicle mode proportions are a vast improvement. And robot mode. he is definitely a chonky boy, I need to strengthen his legs so he doesn’t need to hunch over as much. But again, I think he’s so much better and I love how it’s turning out. Also these green front grill pieces I took from rotf long haul were the bane of my existence for a while, they end up on the opposite side of the robot mode compared to his vehicle mode. Thus the wild joints you can see behind his head. lastly he can do his spider mode, but his back legs need their joints tightened before he can fully support himself.
This is without a doubt, my favorite custom project. I am looking forward to seeing the end result! So Scrapper and Scavenger are left then?
