There's a line (or "crack") down the middle of my Earthrise Leader Optimus Prime's crotch, and I see it on some other figures in various galleries and on some photos in this thread. Is that a common occurrence? I find it kind of an eyesore since it does draw attention right to that spot.

Not a crack, just a mold line.

Yeah, I know it's not technically a crack, hence the air quotes. But that's what they call it? A mold line? Fascinating. In any case, it seems like quite a number of figures (at least from what I've seen on the internet) have it, so I was wondering if it was pretty common or not.

Yep, it’s probably due to how the figure is molded so it’s probably on most of them.

Well, that's pretty interesting. Pity it's on a rather noticeable location on the figure and your eye kinda gets drawn to it...

Not really. It being on a number of figures doesn't necessarily make it a common occurrence. It could be a batch or regional thing.

….. so, you’re eyes gets drawn to Optimus Prime’s crotch. That’s *ahem* very interesting.

Yeah, I know that came out wrong, lol. It's one of those things I guess you can't unsee once you see it. Especially if you then go looking at images of other peoples' figures to try and see if yours was a dud or if it's something endemic to that particular figure. If kinda baffles me why Hasbro didn't paint the crotch yellow like they did with the Siege Optimus figure, since the Earthrise figure shares similar yellow portions on the waist like said Siege figure. That would have at least helped to cover up that mold line.

If it's a mould line, then it'll be on more than just a few figures. It might even be on all of them.

Well, based on my totally unscientific observations (which is just me looking for photos of other peoples' figures), it seems prevalent enough that I'm satisfied mine isn't a dud or some sort of production defect/issue.
