The question is how would they be released? Once at a time in core/micromaster or all together in a voyager pack?

Yup! But a Core class single Micromaster would have increased quality, engineering, and accessories. Think SS86 Hot Rod but on a smaller size. BB movie Ravage and the upcoming SS86 Rumble are good examples of what I've been referring to with the Sixteams and Erector. =)

in fact I prefer that they are core so that they have more quality
if they are core (which I would prefer) they would probably be individual releases but if they were micromasters they would be released in packs of two but it would make sense for them to release them all in one pack

BWAHAHAHA! I was just transforming my First Edition Prime Arcee to see if the transformation was satisfying compared to Legacy Arcee and her horn just broke off out of nowhere! There go my chances of selling it to get the APC Toys version.

Well, I guess that's a good reason to appreciate Legacy Arcee's new headsculpt.

I actually think we’ll get one eventually! HasTak has said it’s moving on from endless G1, & if it’s gonna have an Optimus Prime anchoring the line at some point they’re gonna get to the RiD / Car Robots fire engine version. And who better to remold him into?

Now you’d need a fair bit of remolding, but no different to Siege Ultra Magnus / Galaxy Upgrade Optimus Prime, and you get a new Rodimus Prime to boot! Win / win in my eyes.

If the paint was good enough this'd tempt me to break my one-figure-per-character rule.
This Hot Rod would be great as a CHUGified Sideburn too, and this is still one of my favorite Megatron designs ever. I do like that Siege kind of homages it with the treads on the back, but a proper Leader-class version would be so nice.

I would kill for Hasbro if they started doing RiD designs. So many great designs and concepts untouched for decades.

Is it weird that I want an RiD Optimus Prime but with a regular Optimus head in super mode?

alternatively: what if they used dark arts to pull the 2019 armada prime back from purgatory to spearhead the de-g1ification of the mainline?

I don't think we will see that prime again, it is most likely that if they make a armada prime it will be a new mold

Wait, they said that? When? I request elaboration.

HNNNGH. What I'd give at this point. I want to change my profile pic to an actual stock pic instead of a digibash coloring of the prototype.

You're killin' me, Smalls! :(  Why won't the universe let me dream?

From what I remember they didn't but they said more is on the table from different continuities. And from the figures were getting this year (G1, G2, BW, Armada, Cybertron) it shows a bit. And I'm sure next year we will get even more from those series and others. Fingers cross TFA.

I think it's not so much an actual statement from Hasbro that said that, as much as it is a combination of (as TF Hot Rod said) Hasbro saying that more is on the table from other continuities like they've mentioned in talks and whatnot around the reveal of Legacy, as well as word from leakers that Hasbro seems largely satisfied with most of the renditions of G1 characters they've given us during WFC and don't plan on remaking them again soon (with a few exceptions, like Ratchet/Ironhide).

I say this because it is logical and if Hasbro is going to get into other continuities then a new mold would be better also the prototype is from 2019 and is outdated with respect to articulation and engineering

I think it would be a good thing because we would have a better mold but I understand your sadness

How do we know that the mold is outdated? They showed off the prototype in 2019 when WfC was just getting started so since it was a brand new mold it is safe to assume that it was on par with the WfC figures. Legacy is a continuation of WfC in terms of design, it wouldn’t be crazy if they end up releasing it before the next major engineering revamp.

Ok I should rephrase, the leakers who have been right about EVERYTHING so far this last year or so, have said that HasTak is moving on from endless remakes of G1.

That’s not to say we’re not getting any more G1, simply that the days of us getting endless new mold Prowl, Cliffjumper & Sunstreaker etc figures are over, with them moving more into the well of later G1 / other continuities.

Now if figures had lacklustre versions in the last few years I believe those are fair game for a redo (hence why we’re getting a new Ironhide & Rumble in Studio Series ‘86, for example), but if they’re viewed as ‘good enough’ we won’t see new versions for quite a while.

I’d argue if we see a new Prowl, Sideswipe or Sunstreaker now it’ll simply be the Earthrise versions reissued with perhaps a new paint job. It’s why instead of a new G1 Prime again we have the G2 Battle Tanker design.

Even when the 40th anniversary rolls around I don’t expect anything more for Optimus than another reissue of his Earthrise figure, maybe with an updated Trailer & animation deco but nothing more than that.

The Transformers design team have explained in the recent talks that they are looking to explore more of the deep well of characters in Transformers, I explicitly remember them mentioning Botanica from Beast Machines for example.

So in closing, I don’t expect a new G1 Prime for a long time unless it’s the Powermaster version, otherwise HasTak is looking further afield now.

Besides, how big was that prototype? Like between deluxe and voyager? Because SS86 Hot Rod made "deluxe-sized but voyager-parts count" TFs work. I guess if they want, they could give Armada Prime ratchets in his shoulders, elbows, and knees or whatever.

I just want slagging thing, dang it. I don't even care if it's Titan-class at this point.

I mean, I would argue that Earthrise Ironhide still doesn't look bad, but I dread to see how much he's going for on Amazon, so I think I'm more accepting of a redo. Rumble, on the other hand, was a stumpy little thing and Eject has proven that cassette-bots can be so much more, so a redo of him is fair game in my book as well.

Not sure about the latter two, but I know Prowl needs one if only so he doesn't have Bluestreak's head instead of, you know, his actual head?

Hey, anything to get rid of that pesky grey in his lower legs and to color his belt in properly.
