Legacy is probably the first line designed totally under Covid. Do you guys think that’s why the figures are a little underwhelming? I have seen that theory floated out for the recent Marvel Legends.

They're underwhelming? They look pretty on par with what we've been getting to me.

No? The first wave of a line is almost always received rather lukewarm.

Thanks. I'm sorry for not clarifying, but I meant in vehicle mode. You don't have to do it, though. That was my fuck up. I'm just glad our first preview images aren't coming from that one guy who was an ass to me in the Arcee thread, or Chefatron.

Yeah I hate that dude Chefatron. He's so condescending. Did you see his review of Legacy Arcee? Pancake maker and opening crotch plate.

I replied to that review about how I thought he wasn't giving it a fair shake because he wanted it to be an updated/upgraded PRIME ARCEE instead of a G1 Inspired version, and he said I was just apologizing for Hasbro's laziness...he seems a bit immature to me. Although, as a 50 year old collecting toys, who am I to judge on maturity? :)

Or... and hear me out... them being "underwhelming" is just your opinion. If you're not completely taken with them fine, but you don't speak for everyone.

Yeah, it's like the guy's fourteen years old or something. Watched that review through the end just to get some more looks at it and really wish I didn't. Even the title of the review was obnoxious.

I think I saw this comment. I think he did something at least twice. Like, someone would say something like it's obviously not supposed to be screen accurate and one of the things he says is "I highly doubt you like the figure." Huh? I can't follow any of this guy's lines of logic. Like, defend the toy get accused of not liking it and just defending Hasbro and even though Arcee/Bulkhead are probably the most effort into redesigning Hasbro has done recently he calls Arcee lazy.

Legacy seems the same as WFC so far. I think the "underwhelming" is that excitement for something like Cyclonus and Galvatron-done-right finally, has given way to a G1 interpretation of Bulkhead and Arcee, which are fine, but not for everyone. But it was always going to end up here, after we got through most of G1.

With regards to Marvel Legends, that claim makes no sense. 2021 was a crazy year for ML (see: the AoA wave, the multipacks, figures like Spider-Man and Doctor Strange). 2022 will probably be more of the same. We'll probably see AoA Round 3, probably more 90s X-men characters like Rachel Grey, Feral and Wolfsbane. We'll probably get another Krakoa X-Men wave with the long demanded Exodus in it. Not to mention No Way Home Wave 2 hasn't leaked yet. Hasbro releases 100 Marvel Legends a year... over twice what they do for Transformers. It's basically impossible to have an off year. Even the Eternals shelfwarming turds happened despite 2021 being a great year, and it didn't matter! So be patient!

I'm just talking quality of the figures, not character selection. Most of that X-Men wave is pretty rough looking. Siren looks mailed in. Not even a screaming alt head. Sabertooth looks like William Dafoe. Bonecrusher looks like Charlie Brown. They omitted Havok's silver collar, etc. There are other examples from other lines. Retro Invisible woman's head sculpt is notoriously awful. We're seeing some noticeable quality dips on the ML side and I've seen it speculated that this is due to their admitted difficulties working from home.

On the Legacy side of things, Skids is pretty bad IMO. They made him too boxy and added a headflap for no discernable reason other than cost-savings despite his character never having that look before. The issues with Bulkhead aren't just that he's been 'G1-ified' it's that the figure doesn't look good. He's a box with legs. No proportion at all. Kickback looks fine. He seems incredibly simple for a $22.99 figure, but I guess that's just what the character calls for. I think Dragstrip looks fantastic, but I know a lot of people don't like the fact that he splits in half. I didn't think it was controversial to say Legacy wave 1 is underwhelming. Maybe I just haven't been around long enough to put the criticism into perspective, but in the time I have been here it seems like people were the most unhappy with a new line than I've seen so far.

I'm holding out for a Flamewar for the Arcee mold, but are there any redecos leaked or speculated for the Bulkhead mold? The in hand pics have been making it look better than expected
