Wings are supposed to slope down on a harrier

 

It's not the angle, so much as the way it looks "broken" at the hinges.
In no ways a deal breaker, just something that I can't not see.

 

I like very much what I see, I will buy 2

 

I'm very disappointed that they decided to stick with this head, or at least not include the first, more retro head. It just seemed to have so much more personality, even expressionless.



That being said, DST had previously teased a G1 color scheme so I'm hoping if they do one, they'll include the more retro heads on that release.

That would make the two versions really separate themselves nicely, in my opinion....kind of like X-transbots' Toy version Menasor.

While they did it a while ago, I'm also disappointed that they decided to remove the battle damage as well.

I thought it was a very cool detail that, combined with other things, I was very excited about. There's just a bunch of little things that they decided to change that has me less excited for the release of these figures. I think I still like them, but they don't make me have that funny feeling anymore....as creepy as that sounds....which is disappointing.

The articulation of this figure is impressive, though. The last video they put out almost had me cancelling my preorders (it just make him look so cheap), but I think I'll keep them and see how this goes.

 

Yes agree! DST should include the G1 heads that they originally had for the collectors that want at least some indication of who the character is,

The head is not the only thing that can be associated with a character.

I agree with this 100%. But, in my opinion, the head they went with is just sterile.

It's not that the original head was G1 for me. It just had personality. I didn't get into this set because they were Aerialbots, per se. Hell, I still don't care about combined mode all that much. I almost wish it sucks. That would keep me from being tempted with a third set for combined mode. But, it had a ton of little things (many of which were removed) I really dug that, all together, made for a really exciting set.....to me, at least.

I'm still in for two so, obviously, I still dig it. I'm really a huge fan of fighter plane transforming bots. But I went from "Good Lord, I can't wait for this set!" to "Huh...welp, let's see where this goes.", that's all. And, as a collector, it's disappointing when I lose that feeling. It's one of the main reasons I collect right now. It's one of the things that makes me feel good when so much of the what's happening in the world makes me frustrated.

 

Fear of copyright infringement will make a company switch shit and fast. If there's enough demand they may release them separately later

okay i'm definitely more impressed with what i saw in this video than the previous stop motion "teaser" one. maybe it was the combination of the janky images and poor lighting that made it look like crap.

though the head sculpt isn't bad, and not that i care for a G1 style headsculpt, but the previous one is more interesting and does have more "character" to it.

the bot itself looks good, but feel it could be improved with a bit more contrast instead of it being so uniformly silver. and it doesn't have to be adding more colour but even using darker metallic silver/gun metal grey for sections. for instance maybe a darker silver helmet in relationship to the face to start, and carrying the same application to other parts of the body.

jet looks good, except for the wings. not sure if it was just poorly aligned, or if they could be actually tabbed/locked in better and form more cohesive flat wings so they don't look so floppy.

real cool they incorporated the hand into the figure and it's not an add-on.

 

Looks very good. Better than the previous video indeed. I'm just a bit concerned that the transformation is more complex than it needs to be... I don't like combiners where I have to fiddle with every figure for 30 minutes to get it in the proper mode...

 

I'm not sure, but this clip seems to be a quick review, and everyone noticed, but I think this is all built in combiner, the combiner hand is inside Slingeshot

 

That would make this very interesting... a 50 cm all in one combiner? I think I like these more than how the OX combiners turned out.

 

Have been keeping an eye on this for a while. Always looked impressive! Having recently gone all in on Cang Toys Predaking, I’m now considering whether to stick with the FT Superion or go in on this or the possible G1 version  

 

Only the hands are built in. The feet are some type of support vehicle, you can see them in the original pics.

 

Yeah, they did "the thing" so common with Harrier toys that I have a ready-made pic. "Wings straight, so the landing gear is way too long---you can't angle the wings down even if you wanted to, because the gear is so long and inherently attached at the wrong angle if you do so".


It's almost like the wings and gear were designed by two different people---it looks like the inner part of the wing is TRYING to angle down, but then the landing gear is super-long and so it's forcing the tips back up. Like the designers "changed goals at the hinge"---"we're doing wings down"---"No, wings out straight!"
