Trying nothing, I could see the hits not even connecting, and their punches slow before "impact" along with fake as fuck reactions. There was no sense of weight or contact, nothing "real" about it.

This was two bumbling doofuses in plastic suits trying not to accidentally hit each other because they can't see a thing in those helmets. :lol

What weight? The blade doesn't weigh anything, and everyone has handled the un-ignited hilt like it maybe weighs a few pounds. Plus isn't Paz's main weapon a heavy blaster? He's the last character to struggle to hold something. I would think the real struggle would be avoiding what happened to Din where the blade having no weight makes it easy to turn it on yourself accidentally.

They both looked positively ridiculous in that duel, the fight choreography of BOBF has been absolutely pathetic.

The weight of a lightsaber is actually explained pretty well in rebels

Little more in depth in Rebels though, Book of Boba Fett only really gives a superficial explanation of Din fighting against the blade but doesn't actually get into what that means or how to resolve it whereas Rebels does in it's arc where Kanan is training Sabine on how to fight with the darksaber

It can explain whatever it wants, but it doesn't really mean anything if the characters all handle it like it's nothing. Show, don't tell. Also, this show isn't Rebels, so if the Darksaber has this supposedly intricate weight lore that only manifests in fight scenes that already have terrible choreography and no sense of wight or believably, it really ought to be re-established.

Especially since this is literally the first time in all my years of being a SW fan that I've heard of lightsabers being supposedly so heavy they're hard to use. The closest I can think of is when Padme remarked that Anakin's saber was heavier than it looked, but she also had never held one before. Luke handled a saber fine, as did any character who was not a trained Jedi up until this point. Only now is Din, a highly trained and presumably physically fit and capable warrior, struggling to lift a metal handle about the size of an old TV remote.

In fact that's another thing that bothered me about this episode: Din was kinda pathetic throughout the whole thing. First the sloppily bumbles what should have been an easy bounty, limps around for about five straight minutes, barely wins a hilariously poor fight, then gets the runaround by the Tatooine junk lady. He spent almost the entire episode looking weak and confused and being talked back to by pretty much everyone. The only cool part was the end when he's flying the Naboo fighter. He was really kind of a chump in this show. (and he was kind of a chump in season 2 of his own... in fact Din's kind of been a chump since after the first episode)

Basically, Din's indecisiveness and split focus is channeling into the blade making it unwieldy. It's an extension of the philosophy that a weapon is an extension of the person wielding it. The sword is powered by a living crystal, the crystal creates the energy beam, the user also gives it's energy to the crystal and unless one is focused and not riddled with doubt then the negative energy will make the blade as unwieldy and the users own mind is.

Maybe it’s just me, but Amy sedaris is a terrible choice for Star Wars. Every scene she is in takes me completely out of the story. Is there some cult fan base they were hoping for with that one?

A little goes a long way with her. I’m fine with the time we’ve spent with her character so far. But if she were to become a regular (say like Bobby on Supernatural, where her hanger is Din’s homebase) that would get tiresome real fast.

This. Every grease monkey I know with their own garage is a little quirky so she's not entirely out of character

    I'm thinking this.

Moreover, it seems like Bryce Dallas Howard--who directed this episode--demonstrated she knows what she's doing since the fandom is now clamoring for her to direct an entire Star Wars movie.

So, upon rewatching this weeks episode today I caught something I missed.
When the armorer is discussing the beskar spear with Din she talks about how the rise of the Mythosaur will usher in a new era for Mandalore, but that sadly the Mythosaur is only legend. Well, the Mythosaur is the sigil of the Fetts, and Boba is currently rising to power. That choice of dialog coupled with the visual of the sigil on Boba Fett's armor cannot be a coincidence. I don't think Boba is going to become Mandalore or anything like that, but I think the next 2 episodes are going to be very integral to Din's story arc in season 3

The mythosaur isn't the sigil of the Fetts. And Din wore a mythosaur skull too before he gave it to Grogu

All I know is, Boba wears the symbol of the mythosaur, and he is currently rising to power. Seems like there's some thematic foreshadowing there in that scene.

Hmm, intriguing. I’ve seen someone speculate the Armorer is actually a Zabrak.
Totally agree, it’s like they tell her to be as obnoxious and funny as possible and she’s annoying. If she had more nuanced scenes like when she found the baby, she’d be better but she’s on crack 99% of the time.

I doubt the armorer is a Zabrak because the helmet wouldn't sit so low, don't Zabraks have horns? The horns on her helmet are purely ornamental and a representation that she was one of the members of Death Watch that served Maul when he was leading them. Several Mandalorians added Zabrak style horns to their helmets at that time.

Thats what I figured too, that she was a Mauldalorian. But someone suggested that she’s actually a Zabrak. I hope we never see her face, she’s so cool being a faceless, cold, precise badass.

How is it, that the best episode BY FAR in a Boba Fett series is with Mando and without Boba Fett. What?!!?

Man this is a great episode of the Mandalorian. *Book Of Boba Fett Music Plays* Wait, this isn't the Mandalorian? What!??!

I seriously have no idea how a BOBA FETT series could go so wrong. They fucking nailed him in the Mandalorian and then some, but here, they butchered him by rainbow vespas. I pray they redeem him in the Mandalorian because I have lost all hope for this show. I honestly think that they just didn't want to pretty much redo the Mandalorian twice so they tried to go into a new direction and failed epically. I seriously think no one would have mind Mandalorian 2.0 and they should have just done that instead.
