That really sucks, I think at the time I preordered back in August I must have paid for faster shipping I can’t remember. I was expecting packages today anyway but when the postman handed me the box with Fans Hobby on it I had to stop my jaw dropping to the floor as it had only just checked into a sorting centre outside of Paris last night from Belgium.

Hope yours slips through and ends up on the way to you. I ordered a massive amount of upgrade kits because of CNY.

The month delay on Meg Tyranno was well justified though, I’m having no issues and have gone between tank and robot mode with lots of posing and gimmick stuff at least 8 times now. Leader-1 is really cool actually. I’d have still loved to have had the gun barrels be the same orange as his elbow joints though. He does look a bit flat being mostly grey and black.

 

They just got their reissue of Naval Commander so my fingers are crossed for Megatron soon!

 

It's cool I ordered way too much stuff in January anyway   I don't mind waiting for some.
But speaking of HK, do you know which shipping company did FH use? Because I have some figure ordered from Hong Kong, shipped via HK post, that also has no intention of moving... since 22/01

These ones came from an eBay seller based in the UK I think. I was searching for some quickly on eBay rather than have to wait for reprolabels to send some out to me.

The stickers aren’t reprolabel but they’re super fragile. It’s really hard to get them off the paper/card without them tearing but it’s great because they don’t look like straight G1 versions of the insignias they do look very close to how the Autobot and Decepticon symbols looked in Armada.

I’ll check back with a link if I can remember who sold them. I’ve got Autobot ones on my Optimus and they look amazing too. There’s a couple large ones and then it goes down to minuscule ones too, and some are split in half if you need them to go on a surface that splits for transformation.

This doesn’t happen to me. The only other person who I know for sure has one is @Sixo and his review hasn’t come out yet at the time of typing this…it’s very very strange.

Ask me anything and I’ll try to accommodate.

Quick review though is a solid 8.5/9 out of 10.

I have to say their Mini-Cons are wonderful. I can’t decide if I like Sparkplug or Leader-1 more. I’d love to see a Hot Shot next with Jolt as one of the smaller projects. Maybe along with Demolishor and Blackout since the big ones are Overload and Tidalwave. I have no worries about Megatron being able to hold up Tidalwave his joints are scary solid.

Aha! No doubt many others who bought it have it but just aren’t on the boards or no longer active. I’m looking forward to seeing Bens review as well since his Optimus review was a joy to watch. I’m super tempted to try and get an Overload to hold me over until Fans Hobby put theirs out since I have the original Optimus toy as well

 

How do the connections for the tank treads feel?

 

Do you mean how well do they work when rolling or the quality of the rubber? I don’t know if it’s the same as the rubber they used for the tires on Naval Commander but the treads on the trailer for NC feels exactly the same as the rubber used on Meg Tyranno.

I’m trying to find the seam of the treads but I can’t, so I’m not worried about the breaking. They’re very good quality.

He rolls very well too, and I don’t know if it’s just a coincidence but the noise it makes when rolling sounds very much like how a tank would actually sound purely because of all the moving parts it’s really nifty if that was somewhat intentional.

 

Batteries installed in the head..oh my.

I’m using the coloured eye piece in these photos, so it’s the same as Naval Commander where he doesn’t look dead in super mode without the LEDs on. They’re very bright here.

Still no QC problems to report, so all good! One thing I would suggest however is take some care manipulating the covers for the head in tank mode that fold up along the shoulder treads it can be tricky to do it right if you don’t follow the instructions order of transformation.

Yes they’re the ones already installed, however the faceplate that’s installed is the laughing or shouting face not the neutral/pouty one I have installed here, it’s a bit tricky to get them off actually but you can swap over the faces or horns without unscrewing the head unlike Naval Commander with the super mode fins or pipes.

 

Thought this would be good to share, he’s actually pretty hollow in tank mode. The bulk of the alt mode comes from flip out panels and the bit at the bottom is the storage compartment for Leader-1. You can see his hands in there if you open it up.



I don’t think that’s officially how the hands are meant to transform but I’ve found out if you have them like that if gives Leader-1 more room and he fits in easier.

 

Ah the good old "Megatron squat".

 

Definitely faithful to the original toy and show. Only difference is the arms don’t fold up into the front tank treads. There’s compartments there for the Mini-Con shields blaster and a crane arm for the runway.

 

Looks like he is covering his butt so Leader-1 doesn’t have to look at it haha

 

Pretty exposing to the elements when the ramps are down no wonder  

 

Face is the biggest issue for me, he just looks too young. I haven't watched Armada... I wonder if Megatron in that cartoon really look that?
