91483222-8E1C-421D-A605-383EC76633BF.jpeg Wait…do kids in France actually play with diecast replicas of vehicles such as a Toyota RAV4? As a kid who grew up with toys of Lamborghinis, Corvettes, hot rod ‘57 Chevys, I find my heart aching for the impossibly bleak childhoods those children must be enduring.

It’s like giving a kid a model of a dishwasher to play with. Have fun, kids! :(

I didn't realize Bulkhead is a voyager, that makes him cooler to me.

Oh no it's happening to me it HAS to be happening to everyone else! It's a disaster!!!! Transformers is RUINED guys! RUINED! The consequences will never be the same!

Just...for every one event you've seen I can tell you no less than 3 stories where I've gone to stores all over Portland OR and Vancouver WA and seen nothing outstanding with the open package toys, excluding LeBron. No one messes with this stuff here unless the toy is of a famous basketball player.

It's literally just happening to you and a handful of people. It's not an epidemic any collector should be worried about. You are literally freaking out about a non-issue for the majority of Transformers fans.

    Thanks!

Bulkhead has a much more involved transformation than I was expecting (And this makes me remember than when he was first revealed one of the first complaints was made by a guy who said "The transfomation is too simple, I already know just by looking at the figure" HA!). Solid and fun accessories too.

If there's a complaint I have though is that I have never liked this kind of dull green that Hasbro has always used for Bulkhead. I think I prefer the more metallic green Takara used (although not even that was perfect, something in between would be ideal).

Besides, why would you get a transforming figure of a CASSETTE BOOMBOX anyway? Shit's so OLD and BORING! XP

No one is screaming that the world is ending, they’re expressing a reasonable concern. No one is “literally freaking out” except for you with your absurdly aggressive posts.

Ok...in all seriousness...now I have some slight understanding on people's distaste with the open box format. For what it's worth:

Personally, I'm not into keeping things in mint condition, now that I actually think about it, I think I disagree with the idea on a fundamental level.

However, I can understand that other people are into it--they want toys mint and they want to keep them that way, and they don't want stuff tampered with on the shelf before they even get to it. The idea that now it can so much more easily be tampered with than ever before is worrisome if you want to make sure your item is mint and stays mint. Can't stay mint if it you don't find it (more or less) in mint condition in the first place. They don't work at Hasbro and can't influence the decisions, so coming on the forum (with like-minded TF fans, people who "get it") to vent is their best and only recourse.

Hearing all the black-and-white thinking and negativity on it does damper my experience of the forum (which is why I've been messing around with people so much on this thread, it's how I handle the negativity, not the most mature, I know), but the complaining all makes a lot more sense now. Hopefully that's worth something to someone to read this.

Exactly. Again, this is something Transformers fans only now are worried will become a problem when Hasbro and other manufacturers have been selling stuff in various packages for decades. Including before many here were born. They know what works, what doesn't, and the risks involved all around. They're also in contact with retailers who communicate back what's happening.

How new does someone have to be to think suddenly now some unknown group will spring forth that Hasbro has never once thought of doing something that has never happened at retail ever?

People are worried about "germs" and kids with "candy on their fingers" and I've seen COVID referenced for *months* since this transition was first announced. That isn't reasonable. It's embarrassing.

So many spare tire comments - LOL! Most military vehicles carry spare tires, even the ones with runflat inserts and tire inflation systems. It's being prepared!

Fun fact: Wheels that size on the MAN 7-ton weigh around 400 lbs each and need two people to change them in the field. I did six of them on my truck the past summer! They're either 14.00R20 or 395/85R20 tires.

Seeing all these pics is making me consider buying this figure, but it's hard for me to justify it with the cost increases of the figures over the past few years. I might get it if I find it at a good discount at Ollie's.

I’m not talking about germs, I’m talking about missing parts. I listed four examples of Transformers that were missing parts that I have personally seen over the last month.

The only thing that’s embarrassing is people denigrating others for being concerned about parts missing. It’s bloody childish. If it doesn’t matter to you, why do you care?

It's barely taller than the Huffer mold in cab mode. The military vehicles out here are taller than that compared to semis (using Optimus as an example) but none look super close to this. Is this a squatter model or am I going to need to write this out of my budget? Don't want to drop what is probably my only chance at a G1 Bulkhead...

It's funny, when I was little I always hated that all I could find were sportscars and such. I wanted minivans, station wagons, moving trucks... things I'd actually see out on the road in real life. My tastes have definitely changed since then, but with TFs I still appreciate having a few characters like Skids and Ironhide with more 'boring' car modes to break up the ranks of more exciting sports cars, racecars, heavy-duty trucks, and emergency vehicles.

Because it's going to be one of those instances where Transformers fans stop engaging their brains. It'll be one of those things that gets repeated so often that people start thinking it's an actual problem of epidemic levels. Perhaps is we don't wig out about this stuff and actually fire our neurons and say that problems like this aren't wide spread.

Toys have been in open boxes for years. Imaginext immediately comes to mind. I love that stuff and wished I had toys like that when I was a kid. Red button or disk functions you can try yourself. But over the years I've never seen damage or missing parts. Perhaps they happen and I never see it. But it's a testament to how little it happens because if I never see it then it's a one off thing where some dipshit just wanted to ruin a kid's toy buying experience.

Hot Wheels Monster Truck sets sometimes comes open boxes. So does Spinmaster's Monster Jam. I've perhaps seen a grand total of two trucks stolen, but given the rabidness of diecast car collecting here in the PNW I'm surprised it doesn't happen more often. But even diecast collectors are keen on actually buying rather than stealing.

When it comes to Cyberverse I've also never see anything lost or damaged. I range far and wide when going to hunting. Tigard and Beaverton(Part of Portland Metro, 30-40 minute drive out) and even been to Salem just to toy hunt on a whim(hour or so drive). I love the hunt. I go into the next state over to hunt also. Dozens of Targets and dozens of Walmarts and people just don't dick with toys. I'm certain some miscreants who have some kind of vendetta about Transformers might be damaging toys but it happens so infrequently I never see the results. If it happens so commonly then I should be seeing a rash of broken toys but the evidence doesn't indicate that at all.

Only toys around here that are affected are LeBron James.

Maybe your area kinda sucks? Maybe it has an organized group of dipshits who want to ruin other people's experiences? I don't know. But it's a common logical mistake to think that just because it's something problematic in your area then it must be happening to everyone else. Some things are problematic everywhere you go...but that's a political topic. But people damaging toys? Hardly a legit concern.
