    Grey skies, crows picking as carion, deserted streets, the grimey municipal logo vs the pristine corporate branding of Maccies & Next. Even the outrun-esque angle of the car. Dystopian near future vibes

    So Starscream was £12 + a coin flip at cheapest? I did hear that people who bought 2 of these got 1 of each, rather than 2 of one.

    Hang on though, if Sports Direct can do them for £12, how much is the wholesale price? How much do stores pay for these? It's not like Astrotrain and Starscream were shelf-warmers, so they're hardly bargain overstocks are they?

    Sports Direct are buying unsold clearance stock from Hasbro. Smyths would have paid close to £12 each plus VAT from Hasbro, toy sales average 35% profit margin at retail (less for a lot of online sellers who are trying to compete) unless you're WalMart/Tesco and dictate the prices, of maybe 10% if you're unlucky enough to use Diamond as your main supplier.

    @barry,
    Depending on the delivery company there's probably as good a chance of Pipes being squished by them as there was by Overlord's foot! :D

    @MyTea Boc,
    Does the devil wear shorts in winter? If so you may be onto something :D

    I feel like we've got a website of people who'd have happily bought chunks of that unsold clearance stock, if it was offered! :D

    (I know it's really all about distribution)

    Yeah, buying 50 sealed cases of stuff collectors have already bought isn't the easiest.

    That picture of Legacy Bulkhead with minicons made my day. I just hope Legacy OP doesn't come with minicon ports.

    Bots/collection has now spilled out properly onto my desk/work area.

    How do people cope with limited space?
    I can’t say I want to have bots away in storage (although I do have a garage) and every bot on display has its place / part.

    decisions decisions…

    I can see that. :p

    Half an hour later and that retail park would have been heaving.

    Sun started to appear about midday and has stayed sunny for the rest of the day. Just setting now. Quite picturesque as opposed to that dreary photo from this morning.

    There is also this further take on your earlier vibes ;)

    On a TF note, I am really happy with DS-01. Think he scales pretty well with Megs and Soundwave. Got to look at that complex transformation and the best way to avoid any scratches due to minimal clearances:

    Know what's annoying? Potp blot. Take his robot head off and the ball joint is perfect size to stick squeezeplay's titanmaster on, if you take his head off and shove blot in his ball socket. Even has the room for the titan master to sit in monster mode. But if you do that, he won't be a headmaster because the robot head will be stuck on permanently.

    Anyone got any recommendations for a hand drill that would be good to use on a tf?

    Finally finished repro-ing Jazz’s bot mode!

    Definitely a worthwhile venture, adds more character imo.

    @Rotorstorm Happy Birthday!!!

    Alternatively to the drill idea, is anyone planning a shapeways order I could sneak in on?

    Mm-hm, yes, yes, I see, erudite, thoughtful... now then...

    No Thunderwing.

    Dearest @barry, acknowledging my deepest respect, admiration and courtesy... get tae fuck.

    Let me propose a counter-proposal for your perusal: Transformers: Thunderwing.

    Only one wave, consisting of just a single toy, Commander class Thunderwing. Limited run of only 1 (one) unit, distributed direct to my home address, packaged in a reclaimed vintage oak box with a tasteful bow on it, and containing a note within saying "Dear @Imperator, here is that toy you wanted, now please let us see our families again, love Hasbro".

    Is that so much to ask?
